Can anyone confirm that this WILL NOT be released on blu-ray? Just want to double check before I pick it up on standard DVD. Thanks!

Yes, the creator said the show will never be released on Blu-Ray, unfortunately.

Thanks. Per your icon....it is unfortunate that 2 of the top 5 shows of all time (The Shield and The Wire) will not be released on blu-ray.

I don't think all the seasons were filmed with the correct equipment to allow a good transfer to blu

I heard the same thing. No Sheild on bluray.

I watched them on DVD through the PS3

The 1st season was filmed the best and looked like it would transfer good.

All the others through Season 4 so far are in 4:3 and look like they are filmed on tape, not film

I was certain what he said was he didn't see the point of a blu-ray release but he didn't have the final say on whether or not it would actually happen.

At the very least we'd get a boost in the sound quality.
