The Shield - on Blu - Blu-ray Forum

I am sad to see The Shield go after this season. I have all of the avaliable seasons on DVD but I would love to have them on Blu. Would anyone else being willing to double dip or buy them for the first time on Blu? Does anyone think they will ever make it to Blu?

You know, I was just watching Season 5 on DVD last night. Due to the way the series is filmed, I am not so sure that a Blu Ray release would be worth a dip or a double dip. The fliming is semi shaky with hand cams, and there is intentional grit/grain in the picture.

The box for season 5 states clearly that it was remastered in HD. With upconversion, this would probably get as close to good as possible.

Basically, I am happy with it in current form. Season 2 was always my favorite FYI.

Dirty Cop drama deserves a bit of dirt in the picture.

Ironically as much as I love Blu and the Shield- I would not want The Shield on Blu. The documentary, 35mm style format gives it a "real" look. Blu-ray would ruin that. DVD will be good enough for me unless they put in more extras. The extras have been great thus far.

It's shot on Super 16mm actually. The film stock gives it that gritty, "real" look
