I was wondering what anime and movies released in Japan only are worth getting? Here's what I'm considering to get:
Are there any other interesting (live) Japanese movies I should keep my eye on? All suggestions are welcome! |

Get Sword of the Stranger (Mukoh Hadan), it's only available in Japan without English subtitles.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with the title GITS2. Innocense is this one: Amazon JP Intresting. So the local title is Stranger - Mukou Hadan (ストレンヂア -無皇刃譚-), right? I watched the trailer and that tickled my curiosity. |

Bubblegum Crisis will be coming out in November, I can't wait for that. Not likely to have English subtitles however, unlike the Japanese DVDs which were released by another company (Toshiba, ironically).

I love the director's other movies (especially WELCOME BACK, MR. MCDONALD) so I'm looking forward to THE MAGIC HOUR.
2/3 of my video collection is anime, but it's hard to believe any of my favorites will make it to BD. (I'd love to see Dirty Pair get the treatment!) Of announced titles, I might be tempted by CASTLE OF CAGLIOSTRO if the 1080i isn't too awful. |

Sword of the stranger just might have the best action in an anime yet! IF NOT IT'S DAMN CLOSE.

Im looking at the new Kimchi deluxe box set for Full Metal Alchemist that is now on offer for $370 usd. Is the series a "must have" or good enough to justify the outlay of that kind of coin?
edit: Well, I've done some rsearch and it does indeed look like an excellent series. I don't think I can justify the price to myself without English subs though. Also, I'm perplexed as to what is and is not, in the set. If this was English friendly I'd jump on it. Too bad... Last edited by Gorgon; 01-29-2018 at 02:49 AM. |
