Default Is DAS BOOT being released on BD?

Does anyone know of this title will be getting the BD treatment?

Also, where is the best place to find out about upcoming BD or titles that are forthcoming down the road?

I'm suprised the answer did't just pop into your head as you became an "Expert" member.
However, I'm no expert but have seen it up for Pre order at Play. com (UK) but with no release date announced.

It is still in the rumor stage. I expect it sometime in 2009.

I'd take Downfall over Das Boot.

I prefer Das Boot especially if they release the fantastic TV Series - much richer layers of character ans suspense. But no news on this topic in germany, not even rumours

I never bought Das Boot on DVD since it was a "flipper" disc. I'm pretty sure the Superbit version was either a flipper disc or spread over 2 discs.

I have the Superbit version, which is indeed spread over two discs. The movie is also divided into 65 chapters, with Disc 1 containing Chapters 1-35, and Disc 2 containing Chapters 36-65.

The long version is fun to sit through. You wouldn't initially think so after looking at the run time. The pacing is awesome!

I'm bumping this as I want to find out if anyone has heard any rumblings about a BD release anytime soon.

Nice bump, John. I was just thinking about this the other day. Germany will probably get it first. So we'll most likely have to import it. I wonder what version we'll get. Hopefully the uncut version. It's such a huge improvement over the DC.

Worth getting at the low price it is right now until we get a US release.

Indeed. It comes out to around $20ish shipped. Really not bad @ all. Last time I checked, it was over $40.

Hang on, do you mean the Miniseries version versus the theatrical release? Or is there a Director's cut of the theatrical release as well?
