Cool indeed I'll buy it.

Among my favorite Submarine movies, along with The Hunt for Red October. Just something about objects that are Big, Long, and HArd, and full of Sea-Men inside. Gotta love a submarine

The title of this thread tricked me. I thought it was gonna be about Beerfest. Is Beerfest going to be out on BD?

Wow that would be a great experience on Hi-Def! Hopefully they will finally invest some time to get the full length TV Version restored so we get the whole deal in superb picture and sound. Unfortunately by now only the Director's Cut has received that treatment. The TV Version lacks in both, video and sound...

Das Boot is definitely a classic. I hope that they give this one the loving care it deserves as they do the Blu-ray work.

Just remember that when you get this BD and play it in LPCM, warn your neighbors about possible glass shattering and earth shaking.

"Run Lola Run" is a very cool movie. I'd probably get them both.

Das Boot will be another session of grain complaining (they made a 6 hour show for what, $6 million?), but the sound in even 384DD was incredible. PCM will be window cracking on the pings and depth charges

Some have called Das Boot the best war movie ever. It certainly has gripped me since its release over 20 years ago. Watched it with all three of my sons as each grew up. Own the original DVD, the Director's cut, and soon the BD version (A committed re-buyer I). War machines can have a strange beauty and drama of their own. The leaving-for-war-patrol scene as the U-boat drives forward through the sunlit sea and the music swells... unforgettable, and now in Blu-ray!
