Default Problem playing Mpeg-2 blu-ray disk

Hi, I am new to the forum and new to the whole playing blu-rays on my pc thing.. i've been able to get some of my other movies to play fine after downloading anydvd hd but i cannot get my copy of Terminator 2 to play---it plays but it is just showing a bunch of strange colors instead of a picture and the audio works fine. the disk is saying it is mpeg-2 format and i am playing it using the newest version of powerdvd ... any ideas? do i need to download a codec pack? please excuse my ignorance, i just purchased a brand new pc and thought this whole setup would be a breeze. my computer's specs are: AMD dual-core 2.7 Ghz, 4 gb ram (showing 3.25 because i'm running xp), ATI 4850 512 mb gpu. i'm also using an LG blu-ray / hd-dvd drive (bddvdrw ggc-h20L). any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Bryan

not too sure if i understand you 100% but it is a blu-ray dvd and it says in the disk information that it is mpeg-2 format. what do you mean when you say it chokes the dual core? what can i do about that?
