Default Best Buy Return Policies on games

So I just purchased a Rock Band 2 for PS3 a couple of days ago and decided that I don't want it. I can't get the guitar to calibrate right (so I can't play it) but the drums work fine, however, the game was opened.

I know that no store will take back any opened videogame but has anyone here tried to return an opened Rock Band ??

Let me know yout thoughts!

In the rock band case there is a paper that says if anything is defective with the game / instruments you have to contact Harmonix directly. I believe best buy will tell you the same thing. You could maybe fight for store credit but I doubt it. good luck !

Costco Wholesale is the only B&M that will take back opened games and/or other media.

Yeah basically any retail store that sells Rock Band will say to just call Harmonix because they are the only ones who can actually do something about it.

With my original RB I had issues with the guitar strummer (broke) and the drums (bad connection with pedal).

Harmonix handled the issue without being a pain all done via online. I chose to go with the cc route (they will charge it if you don't return the defective items)...it's quicker that way...they send you out replacements FIRST and then you ship the defective equipment back in the boxes received, postage paid by them of course.

Also, I'm sure you already tried this but...did you change the game settings to match the type of display you have? You'll definitely have sync issues if you didn't.

Hope it helps.
