PS3 NTSC On Pal TV - Blu-ray Forum

Hi guys, I have an Ntsc Ps3 and I wanted to send it overseas. My question is the tv overseas are in Pal format. So will the Ntsc PS3 show any picture on the Pal tv? The connection will be through hdmi. Also can the U.S Ps3 handle the 240 volts they have there?

If it's standard definition TV, no.

IF it's HDTV, then the only format it won't handle are PAL DVD/standard def BD content discs and 1080i50 video signal from a BD.

The voltage is no problem.

Depends where you go. Australia is PAL format, but any TV sold in the last 10 or so years, is NTSC compatible, so that being the case, it would be fine. I would just send it anyway
