I think the unrated version is the directors vision and the PG13 version is the censored version as sanctioned by the studio for a lower rating and larger audience.

"A few cgi blood puffs and dubbed curse words". Bit more than that actually .

Here's a look at the 76 differences.

27 Violence Cuts
37 Dialogue Cuts / Changes
12 Cut Scenes

Right. Few pink CGI blood puffs, some dubbed f-bombs, and a few lines are removed. No practical blood squibs, very little in the way of f-bombs said on-set, and it still feels clean and sanitised.

And the director of full of $hit. He's saying that to cover his ass. Fox only agreed to make the movie if it was PG-13. Kevin Smith has talked about it at length.

You have to ask why the studio would go to the trouble of adding 76 extra moments to make the film into a version they would hardly ever market.
It was only in 2 disc dvd's and this Oz release is its first ever appearance on Bluray.
I believe the directors comments were on the documentary included with the 2 disc dvd.

76 changes are enough to make any Die Hard fan interested to see the alternate version.
This is Die Hard after all .It shouldn't be PG-13 and its good to see a version that adds the harder edge to the movie bringing it closer to the spirit of the original .
Whether the dialogue was said on set is unimportant. I would guess a good amount of the dialogue in Die Hard movie action scenes is added later anyway

Mine was shipped a couple of days ago so I hope its here in the UK this week.

I think the 4-6 weeks is for them to be on the safe side the same way Amazon give delivery dates way off in the future.

I think my Hammer boxset from JB took less than 2 weeks and I also ordered from their Buy 2 Get One Free promotion earlier this year .

2 of the items were not in stock so they sent all 3 by separate packages . Talk about spending too much on postage .
They also took about 10 days IIRC.

The most annoying delay I find with JB is the gap between placing the order and it actually being shipped even if its in stock . They certainly don't ship within 24 hours as other companies do

Ordered on the 24th , arrived in the UK today . All 5 movies in a box that usually fits only one disc.
Watched Die Hard today and it seems to be the exact same disc as the previous Oz release bereft of many of the bonus features included on the 2 disc dvd versions.

As with all my other Australian releases over the years I've never paid customs for an Oz purchase no matter how large.

Today I got a demand in the post from DHL for £15 customs for The Vincent Price Collection 2 (Shout USA). Standard thing - but even when I ordered that massive over a foot tall special dvd boxset of Charmed I got no customs either.

As the Die Hard set is so small its discreetly mailed in a standard mailer so I doubt it will encounter any customs problems.

I've only looked at Disc 1 but the main case states that Die Hard 4 and 5 both contain harder cuts and I have no reason to disbelieve it.
I will check it out soon . But I won't be watching either of those for a while so I'll only be able to note what I'm expecting to be a simple menu choice to choose either version.

The case etc looks the same as the UK one except that in the list of films it states Harder Cut for both 4 and 5.
As the harder cuts were classified by the BBFC and released on dvd you have to wonder why Fox UK missed this opportunity.

Only watched DH4.0 so far. On boot up after the Fox logo etc you get a menu offering choice of the uncut of theatrical versions. This then takes you to another menu which allows you to watch that version of film or extras. It also allows you to switch to other version.

I'm assuming there's no handy section putting all the differences together for a side by side comparison
