I managed to get on the site using an Australian proxy but I could only find an upcoming release of Die Hard 1 . No sign of the boxset. The link in post 1 no longer seems to work regardless

The link in post 1 is no longer active because it was the JB exclusive digipack which is now OOP. Here is a link to the set which now comes in different packaging:

The set looks good and I want to order it but via a proxy the site won't work properly . I can't even sent them an email as there's no link appearing once you go to the help section.
I guess I'll have to order it from another Oz retailer.

Edit - can't find any others that stock it

any kind soul from the aussie forum, is it possible for you to help us international members and use the contact us form on the jbhifi website and notify them of their website problems? I can't even access their contact form, don't know how to contact their customer service directly, thanks.

Should be able to contact them on retail-orders@jbhifi.com.au.

I've sent them one via the contact us page, with a link here.

I phoned them up earlier about it, seeing as though international members weren't showing any inkling of thinking for themselves . A quick Google search would have given you a way to contact them, without having to call them or go through their website

What offer? It's not currently on sale, nor is it OOP, so what's the rush?

If you want it cheaper, you'd be best to wait for JB's next 20% off sale, which will be in the coming weeks.

thanks for the help guys, finally "Access Granted".

coincidentally just had a dispatch email from jb, 9 days after I ordered the DH boxset, so it looks like for international customers at least, be prepared to wait for you order. Now just hope it'll get lucky and won't get caught by customs, and packaged well so it won't get bashed during the long transit.

They emailed me back saying "Yes there are a few counties that can no longer access the website and we will no longer be shipping to them."

Possibly while they were making the changes it was affecting everyone outside of here.

I'd have thought a softer and easier way would just be removing certain countries from the ship to country selection. A much friendlier mechanism. and not something that I expect you could pretty simply circumvent with an aus based VPN or proxy

Yay.
Got access normally - boxset ordered.
Now the usual JB waiting game . Just how long will it be before it actually gets posted.

I think the unrated version is the directors vision and the PG13 version is the censored version as sanctioned by the studio for a lower rating and larger audience.

"A few cgi blood puffs and dubbed curse words". Bit more than that actually .

Here's a look at the 76 differences.

37 Dialogue Cuts / Changes

Right. Few pink CGI blood puffs, some dubbed f-bombs, and a few lines are removed. No practical blood squibs, very little in the way of f-bombs said on-set, and it still feels clean and sanitised.

And the director of full of $hit. He's saying that to cover his ass. Fox only agreed to make the movie if it was PG-13. Kevin Smith has talked about it at length.

You have to ask why the studio would go to the trouble of adding 76 extra moments to make the film into a version they would hardly ever market.
It was only in 2 disc dvd's and this Oz release is its first ever appearance on Bluray.
I believe the directors comments were on the documentary included with the 2 disc dvd.

76 changes are enough to make any Die Hard fan interested to see the alternate version.
This is Die Hard after all .It shouldn't be PG-13 and its good to see a version that adds the harder edge to the movie bringing it closer to the spirit of the original .
Whether the dialogue was said on set is unimportant. I would guess a good amount of the dialogue in Die Hard movie action scenes is added later anyway

Mine was shipped a couple of days ago so I hope its here in the UK this week.
