This is the same universe that brings millions of years ago extinct animals back. I don't think bringing endangered sharks back would be difficult.

So it's basically Jaws 3 then?

The thing that worries me is the plot. It makes no sense to me they would need to create a new breed of dinosaur, other then for the merchandise issues mentioned above. So people seeing dinosaurs brought to life isn't enough anymore, they need some new hybrid to excite people? What!? I've never went to a zoo and said, "Seeing a tiger and elephant is nice and all, but I'll only come back is I can see a tiger/ elephant hybrid". Makes no sense to me. I would rather they just introduced some new dinosaurs we haven't seen on screen yet and threw them in an interesting and gripping story myself. Hopefully the new hybrid thing doesn't look too ridiculous and take you out of the film. I know cloned dinosaurs aren't realistic as it is, but I think seeing some weird hybrid could really bring it into fantasy material.
I want to see an Elephiger. Right. NOW.

Well, from what I can see right now, here's how I think it'll work out.

1. Kids will get lost somehow.
2. Pratt will be worried so he goes after them
3. The Big bad destroys the place and is chasing them
4. The obligatory: "We shouldn't have done this" moment
5. The big save
6. The ending narration.

Although, I feel as if the trailer has been rigged to show that formula so that people can get their butts to the theaters.
Honestly, just seeing the dinos in the big screen is worth the ticket.

Damned right. I still get chills down my spine when the big reveal happens in the first JP movie, so if they can make something which generates even a fraction of that sense of awe and wonder (IMAX FTW!) then I'll be there.

You didn't go last year for the 20th anniversary?

I saw the Lost World once in the cinema. Once was quite enough. I should've learned my lesson but I had to go and watch the Blu-ray, didn't I? Ugh. Won't be making that mistake again.

I won't know how I feel about the hybrid until I see more of it, but maybe one of the reasons for introducing it is a plot point?

If the park was allowed to open after the first failed attempt years ago and resulting events, management would have had to prove that they had overcome the flaws in the original security system for the park to be safe for visitors. Maybe the point of the hybrid is to show that while they had figured out a way to safely contain regular dinosaurs, the hybrid, with its advanced intelligence and skills, proved to be too much.

Watching Jurassic Park 3 right now and I'm amazed at how well the visual effects have held up. The Dino vs. Spino fight is incredible.

While it's nice to see the franchise back I'm more excited for the Skull Island movie.

Sure someone posted on here a while back that the point of the hybrid was that the park had been open for years and people were no longer wowed by the current dinosaurs and with visitor numbers falling they went and created something brand new hoping it would bring back public interest in the park.

Something I noticed while going through the trailer again, the I. rex (or D. rex, depending on what the final name is), the hybrid dinosaur, has thumbs. This was something the Lego figure had as well, and I was wondering if the movie version really had them. This makes me wonder... how? None of the animals it's made from have thumbs. Does this mean we'll get some kind of "oh we put a bit of human in it" reveal/plot twist moment?
