They added another add-on for £55:

Quote:
A CUT ABOVE! GRADUATION DAY t-shirt (high quality black t-shirt, emblazoned with classic poster image, medium or large only), ZOMBI HOLOCAUST BluRay (ace ltd edition version with slipcase) and our forthcoming BluRay mega-editions of SPLATTER UNIVERSITY and SLAUGHTERHOUSE thrown into the deal!
I'm going to wait a few more days to see if they add XL shirts but this is the one I'll probably get, even if they don't.

They shouldn't be too worried about the slow start. I wouldn't be opposed if they extended it another month to get away from the holidays.

Thanks for the response so far - we are, cautiously, hoping more people will donate to this. Especially since it allows us to test out the market, in general, for these Italian releases. If we aren't going to get a lot of interest we obviously know where we stand!

To answer some questions:

We have added a perk where you can now obtain two future releases: SPLATTER UNIVERSITY and SLAUGHTERHOUSE.

And the complaints about time of year - sorry this is out of our hands. We had to wait for access to the camera negative, and the price of remastering, to be confirmed. In addition to this we have a license on the title and to make the acquisition worthwhile it has to be out on the shelves by April. Otherwise no Zombi Holocaust. Remember we took this from Exposure so some time has already elapsed on the purchase.

Hope this helps and please spread the word.

Can I recommend extending by a week? Many people get paid on the last Friday of the month, or the 1st, and you might just catch plenty of those who can't afford it in December because of Christmas, but will have funds days after the fundraiser ends?

It's important for high quality Blu-ray releasing in general that any and all campaigns of this nature do not fail, as for many films it is clearly the only way they're going to get new modern transfers, and the more succesful campaigns there are, the more likely we'll see more of them from other labels.

So even if you don't have an interest in the film, or have seen it and don't like it, pledge £20 anyway. You'll make most if not all of that back on the second hand market since the Indiegogo version will have a limited edition slipcover.

That said, I don't think 12% in the first 2 days is that bad at all, and am quite confident it'll be a success.

Thinking of getting Slasher Special 2 but £55 for 3 Blu-rays and a tee I wont wear seems too much when I could probably pick up the 3 for £30 or less on release

The current amazon prices are far more and remember that both the t-shirt and the ltd edition of Zombi Holocaust are exclusive to this campaign. And you can feel warm and snuggly at night knowing you have helped with restoring this classic from its original camera neg!

OK I'm in. Couldn't see where to specify t-shirt size though. Current total now £955.

Thanks!

Email us at info@88films.co.uk with your size (for both t-shirts) just so we have it on record!

Are all the options limited to releases up till December 31, or is that just for the 40 GP Slasher Special?

Thanks.

All options are limited to Dec 31st unless otherwise mentioned (i.e. the £55 option for Slasher Pack 2 and the £500 option which acts as a cheap subscription for our next 50 releases!)

Looking back earlier in this thread, am I understanding this right.

Target £7500

Payment taken immediately

If target not reach money isn't returned? (Maybe misunderstand this?)

Someone already after day one and £955 taken getting cold feet and might pull the campaign.

Would like to get in on this...but....is this correct? Does money get returned or not if the campaign is pulled or target missed?

Cheers

IF WE CAN'T DELIVER OUR STATED GOAL OF REMASTERING ZOMBI HOLOCAUST FROM THE IN-CAM NEG AND HAVE TO USE THE EXISTING HD SOURCE THEN YOU WILL BE REFUNDED. OUR FULL INTENTION, HOWEVER, IS TO GO AHEAD WITH THIS NEW SCAN. SO WE DO NOT EXPECT IT TO COME TO THIS!
I assume what they mean is they'll take the final amount they raise and see what they can get, but if it isn't enough to do the remaster then they'll refund.

You can pledge with confidence - of course, we don't expect to have to refund anyone as we are quietly hopeful we can scan the new camera negative rather than rely on the old master. So, what else is there to say? Just please support this campaign and spread the word so we can do what we have said we will with this great horror movie!

I have judge pledged £60 and an additional £10 'gift' as they describe it. I could have just took the £70 package but I am happy to contribute something and I like the idea that if it is fully funded I will have contributed something towards the original camera neg being rescanned and remastered.

I really hope the £7,500 goal is reached and this happens. If not, so be it as Zombi Holocaust isn't exactly considered a masterpiece. While I love Burial Ground I only like Zombi Holocaust but it will be nice to have a top quality Blu-ray of it out there.

Thanks so much for the vote of confidence - we are really going to do our best with this one. It's a title that we love lots too!

If you don't quite hit the target but get enough for a new scan, I'm sure many of us would be more than happy if you just did the grade and left most of the film dirt as-is. A little film dirt is nothing, and always preferable to a digitally tampered version like the current HD master.

That is the plan - but let's hope we can get to that £7500 and deliver the print we intend!

I've just had a thought, how about adding a £15 (or slightly less, same as they'd pay an average online retailer?) option for those sitting on the fence. They'd receive the basic Blu-ray only, no exclusive slipcase.

Great! I hope you do hit it - I've shared the link in a couple of places too.

I think it would be helpful for those who had not seen the previous blu ray just how bad it actually was( PLEASE NOTE NSFW Screenshots/Viewer Discretion)-
