My brother's ps3 and my wii got stolen the other day. We were gone and one of his friends came in while our parents slept and went into his room and stole his ps3 and my wii that was in there. Thank god they didn't steal my ps3. I'd rather lose a wii any day than my 60 gig ps3. They don't even make those anymore, so my brother is going to have to try to find one on ebay. People piss me off. I had a lot of virtual console games downloaded on my wii. They also stole every ps3 game my brother had and my casino royale blu ray that I had in my brother's room. Thank god I locked my door to my room. I am just hoping the police can do something about it. Anyone else ever have a ps3 stolen? The worst thing about it is losing all of your save data. All of my brother's stuff gone. All the games and saves on my wii gone. That's not that bad though since I rarely play my wii, but I feel for my brother, if I had lost all of my ps3 saves and games, I probably would have gone insane. I just beat resistance on hard and unlocked superhuman mode. It took me forever and I don't think I could have had the patience to do it again. I can't even beat the first board on superhuman but just having it there proves I beat it on hard. Plus then there's my Final Fantasy XII save data, which I have gotten pretty far on, and I just started playing MGS1 and have gotten kind of far in that, as I am playing the first three through so I can play the fourth since the series and especially the fourth is supposed to be somewhat of a masterpiece. This world I swear, when your home isn't even safe from your supposed friends you know the world's turned to crap. If anyone else here has lost a game system you know what I am talking about and can see why my brother and I are so pissed. His friend, I swear, he better never show his face around here again.

The reason we think we know who it is, is my brother hasn't hung out with this guy for years, and he has stolen from us before, but then my brother decides he wants to hang out with him again, so he brings him over twice and then a couple of days goes by and they get stolen. We know it has to be someone who has been inside the house before, because it wasn't broken into. They went in the back patio door, which we sometimes forget to lock, and skipped every room on the way to my brother's room. So we think it was someone who knew the house. My brother doesn't know where this guy lives because he moved from his old house, so we can't really go over and see if he has it. And he won't answer his phone, which leads us to think he did it even more. We called the police, and we called all of the local gamestops and other game stores and gave them the serial numbers. But I don't think they stole them to sell them, because they didn't take the boxes (which is how we have the serial numbers. The way I see it, our only chance of seeing the systems again is if the police can track this guy down. We gave them his name and number, but that is all we know. I told my brother he's an idiot for letting this kid in our house again, but hey, nothing we can do now but hope we get it back. If not then I guess we can file a claim with our homeowners insurance or something, I'm not really sure how that works though.

sucks he lost his stuff...... not sure why the "saved data" is so important..... but none the less...
How again is it that you know who it was????? Edit... posted too soon..... Name and # should be enough for the police to at least go over there and scare the kid...... The kid has no obligation to let them into his house though, but if he lives with his parents, the parents may rat him out....... |

I have my account on my brother's ps3, I hadn't thought of that. Thanks for that tip. I will change the login and call my card company immediately. My brother doesn't have any credit card information on his account though, so do you think it's still necessary to change his?

Gotta lock the doors and windows.
When I moved to the area where I currently live nearby all came over and mentioned they don't ever lock thier doors because it's a "safe" area. I found it funny that every one of them had 2 or 3 big dogs with those electric fence things so that it's not possible to step foot onto the property without confronting the seemingly vicious dogs and they want to brag about leaving the doors open. It's a completely different crime if they have to break in. My wife would leave our doors unlocked all the time but I like to lock it all up. (Maybe someday I'll do even more for home security... ? maybe.) -Brian |

dude... so your brother is friends with this kid and none of his other friends know him??? how is that? It seems like I have friends from different places... but someone knows someone... I mean you're bound to find where the guy lives... I'd throw a brick through his window take back my shit and kick his tv in... then threaten to break his face with a baseball if he ever came to my home again.... but that's just me

Luckily the deadbeat had used my co-workers home address in the scam so he was able to hear about it before it was too late. The criminal was eventually arrested, and with a little bit of work things managed to get sorted out. |

Dude, I would suggest scanning ebay, and your local Craigslist.org site, Craigslist lately is a haven for criminals and stolen stuff, good luck finding the perp and making him pay!
