I'm sad to hear about this. I checked and every foreign language version has the bully grunting--but not the English 'lossless'. It's not lossless if stuff is missing, right?

JUust got my copy today, after sampling it, I can say it looks VERY nice, but it's not PRISTINE! It's a good transfer, but it's not redone frame-by-frame like Jaws & E.T. were. I think we're getting spoiled.

It still looks very good. Better than before.

For all the money they spent on it, "Annie" never looked great in the theater. I saw the 70MM blow-up at the Astor Plaza in NYC the first week it opened and the print had a fair amount of grain, something I wasn't expcepting from a 70MM print.

The sound was loud - too loud, and the sound effects that are missing may have not been on all prints.

I never liked the drums at the opening or the grunts and the fireworks are a bit softer at the end once the tomorrow vocal starts (Though they should have been removed althoghter)

Why is the original filmed version of "Easy Street" never released to home video? It's one of the best songs in the show. It would be great to have the three stars singing the first two verses also!

Be advised that the DVD has the same Pan&Scan transfer as the stand-alone DVD.

I like that Target cover more so then the "sing along" font killing the other edtions cover otherwise it is a nice variation.

so DVD is the same P&S and I'm guessing the bluray is the same as the 30th anniversary sing along edition. Would that be correct?

This 1982 film captures the essence of the comic strip better than any filmed version to date. Just not its political overtones.

If you want to nitpick, go to the boards of every original trilogy Star Wars film released from 1997-Present. There are massive boulders to nitpick there.

A positively brilliant film! One of the best I've ever seen.

Perfect casting. Charming singing that isn't auto-tuned. Superb choreography. Engaging performances. Well-scripted with a captivating storyline involving peril and a caper plot in the spirit of the original comic strip.

Saw it in the theater back in '82. All-time fav. Love this one.

I completely agree. My ONLY complaint was the two G-D profanities uttered by Rooster at the end of the film. This is a KIDS movie and those two profanities were NOT needed at all.

Other than that....a near PERFECT film.

They were needed, otherwise "Annie" would have died a G-rated death at the box office
