I doubt it - based on how they are going to be cutting their prices.

This is really disappointing news. Maybe instead of lossless audio they will include a rolled up dollar bill and blow with the release of this title. Warner seems more interested in "gadgets" to go with their movies such as books and cookie cutters rather than putting out a quality product (SQ/PQ).

Very disappointing. But I love the movie so I will get it anyway. Not buying it would mean to punish myself more than Warner. That's the annoying thing.

They are repeat offenders: WB released 'Phantom of the Opera' in Dolby Digital 5.1 @ 640 kbps in the US. I had to doubledip the Japanese release that had Dolby TrueHD plus PCM 5.1 tracks.

Hey,

I sort of liked this movie... I have the DVD and will likely buy the Blu Ray as usual for anything I have on DVD.

Just wanted to say... I'm not ready to be angry with WB yet. They killed HD DUD so their credit is still good with me. Maybe sometime in the middle of next year I'll be ready to get cranky with them.

Anyway,.. I have no doubt that something like LOTR would be a different matter completely. (In other words,... I don't believe the notion that all WB Blu Rays will come without HD Audio) In the case of some of these "older" movies that were not big sellers WB must have certain options in source available to them and decisions like this are likely made for valid reasons.

That's exactly what I was telling a year ago, and many forum members were upset when I mentioned boycott for releases without lossless audio. It is real shame to have so many good titles just with Dolby
Swordfish
Last Samurai
Good Fellas
Training Day
Aviator
Alexander Revisted
Million Dollar Baby
Gothika
Shawshank Redemption
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Purple rain
Wyatt Earp

With the format war finally over and no fear of WB switching over, It's high time we should teach these s**kers a lesson.

I hope they dont screw up The Lord of The Rings Trilogy on Blu-Ray?
I dont understand why Warner does these things? And why are they the only ones that pull this crap? Yeah Paramount was the same way when they released movies on Blu-Ray before they jump ship for HD DVD.But since there return to Blu-Ray all there movies that have come out on Blu-Ray after they came back have included Dolby True HD.
Come on Warner get you're act together?!

I have stopped buying Blu-rays with lossy sound. There are too many great releases now for me to waste my money and time on those which have not been handled with care. For me, the sound is even more important than the PQ. I don't have time to watch all the movies coming our way, so Ill just wait for new releases with better PQ and SQ when a studio has a sloppy release.

Both this an LA Confidential are listed on the WB site for pre-order at $22.95 (before the discount), so it would indicate they'll likely be able to be ordered in a couple days. It just has an error message for the time being.

Son of a.... You want to know what's really sad about it? Blow was a New Line film until Warner swallowed them recently. Think about the previously released New Line Blu-ray's (Hairspray, Golden Compass, Pans Labyrinth, Shoot 'Em Up) all released with 7.1 DTS-HD MA soundtracks. We all know of Warner's inconsistency with their own films. Now they are gimping New Line's since they own them now. GRRRRRR!!

Man, and to think if New Line were putting this out it would have 7.1 DTSHD-MA sound!

Warner thank you for ending the war, but come on start using the full capabilities of Blu-ray!

I may have to pass on this one even though it is a great movie, with a great soundtrack that would have sounded awesome from New Line!

We can all look forward to the LoTR trilogy on 25gig discs with no extras and lossy audio.

This is the real problem we all face now not DNR. Lossy audio on BD is a travesty.

Booooooo!! Former New Line movie getting released by WB with NO Lossless sound. Not a good precedent for other New Lines that will probably be released by WB like Blade, Austin Powers, Seven, Nightmare on Elm Street, Final Destination, and etc.
Cases start out as a photoshopped digital representation. Sometimes the person doing it doesn't have all the facts, or messes up.

Sometimes, these mistakes make it all the way to production without being caught.

It is best to wait for verification from one of our experts before assuming Warner/NL have gone crazy (again).
