Just got Howards End replacement today. I mailed mine off 20 calendar days ago. I live in Canada, so I assume this is based on mail/when you sent it in/etc.

Just to try to keep this alive, did anyone got response from Criterion or sent them discs not in their list? they never responded to my emails about Stagecoach.

No reply for the email I sent about my schizzy Gomorrah, either, but I don't expect a response until after the holidays.

You might want to add Warner's very first release of Enter the Dragon (the one with the A Warrior's Journey documentary on it). Many members of this forum are complaining about it not being able to play anymore:

I can verify this myself...I just sent my copy back to WB for a replacement. No coloration or any evidence of damage in the disc but it will not play. If anyone needs the contact info, please send me a pm.

It's not entirely clear whether the culprit is disc rot or a java update that makes the disc unplayable. But several have said that the discs appear to be in perfect condition physically.

Blu Titan, I doubt they will replace it for you with the very same disc because they don't have the rights to A Warrior's Journey anymore.

This is why I kept my first BD player, which does not have an Internet connection. I've updated the firmware only once using a CD-ROM. I keep it as a backup in case the studios try any funny business with my newer player.

I did the same thing. I never once updated my Oppo, nor will I ever connect it to the Internet. I'll just leave my PS4 to get constantly updated, but unfortunately I won't be able to play region A locked titles on it.

I'm still rather surprised and disheartened that Warner never recalled THX 1138 because of the loading problem. C'mon, you shouldn't need a SDH card to fix it. Warner, to my knowledge has never even acknowledged the problem, yet even Amazon suspended its sale for a while because of all the complaints.

Just received M and Howards End today. Notably absent was Monterey Pop, the defective disc I sent in that is not on their formal list. However, the following note was included from Mulvaney:

"Please find exchanges for some of the discs you returned to us enclosed in this package. We are still waiting to get corrected versions of your remaining discs, which are in production - we will send those replacements out to you as soon as possible."

So I'd expect that list to get updated on the website at some point soon.

I haven't opened the majority of my Criterions. I'm more of a movie collector than a watcher (so far). I don't usually open my movies until I watch them. Plus, I figure if I ever want to sell them, they'll be worth more unopened. Now I'm thinking I better open them.... I have the same internal debate for the other return programs (Disney etc.), as I haven't opened most of those either. Quality issues are a hassle and really disappointing.

Thanks jscoggins for this thread and thanks to Stinky-Dinkins for his "Master List for BD's with Replacement Program" thread started in 2011. Perhaps you two can combine your threads - they are both really helpful. I appreciate the time you spend keeping these current!

Question.

I emailed Jon about Eraserhead and mentioned my Stagecoach disc. He said to send them back together. Anyway I got my Eraserhead disc very quickly but never received anything concerning Stagecoach. Would there be a reason not to send them to me together? Its been over a week since I got Eraserhead.
