Big hats off for CD Projekt Red BUT I also understand why some publishers are reluctant to offer all this amount of content free. Rather because of perhaps the used games arguement that they don't see any money from such sales, hence the EA "Buy a pass to play online" situation and charging for DLC as a means to recoup some revenue somewhere. I don't agree with all practices as I said that intendt to merely nickel and dime gamers.

I believe DLC done right and priced well;, will get gamers on side and they'll purchase.

Again, hats off, cause I plan on buying the game, but I hope if they do a big expansion for the game, they price it well and set another example
What would fix the problem is to have Gamestop give a small percentage of used game transactions straight to the individual developers. But that's a fantasy land. They report record profits year after year and it doesn't seem right.

I was going to purchase this any way but the news about the free DLC is awesome.

Surely that can't be true. I honestly feel anybody may have played soeme RPG or other in their gaming lifes and just not known it. Mind you, some just don't think of the game they played as RPG either.

Hope you have a great time playing this. It's going to be my first Witche game experience.

I don't have a problem with used games, if you make a good game the shelves won't be full of used copies a week after release and people will buy new. last of us sold for used at nearly the same as new for a very long time and I imagine a lot of people just bought new because of that. If you make crap, you loose money, welcome to the real world......

As for the game, I haven't played witcher before, but have been interested in it and will be buying this one for sure!

I never heard of this game until earlier this year. It reminds me of Skyrim, which was my first RPG game that I ever played, and LOVED IT. I put in 400+ hours into Skyrim, so this looks right up my alley. Looking forward to this coming out.

Excited to play this game... But I'm not going to start it until I've had my fill of Dying Light. I have a feeling that once I start The Witcher I'll be playing it for quite a long time.

I played Skyrim but I was a bit overwhelmed with the game so I don't know if i'll have feel the same way about Witcher 3.

Delayed to May 19th 2015.

One word:

F*

https://twitter.com/VG_Dave/status/541987994673377281

Otoh gives me a chance to catch up on the backlog, as the begining of the year is heavy anyway between The Order 1886 (the PSX impressions make me far more optimistic about the game), Bloodborne and probably a few others like hopefully Rime/ Tomorrow Children and the Witness.

Is Evolve the only big release left on XB1 in Q1? (not an exclusive one mind you)

PR:

Quote:
Dear Gamers,

Ever since we started working on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, we knew it would be an ambitious game. We wanted, and still aim, to give you an incredible experience, an epic adventure in a vast, completely open fantasy universe.

The sheer size and complexity of The Witcher, key features of the title, have had a decisive impact on production. Now, nearing the end of our work, we see many details that need to be corrected. When we release the most important game in our studio’s history, we must be absolutely sure that we did everything we could to limit any bugs to a level that will allow you to enjoy the game thoroughly.

With this in mind, we took another look at current workloads and what they mean for the team. Even though everyone is working at full speed, we concluded that we need another 12 weeks, so we are shifting the release date of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to May 19th, 2015.

We owe you an apology. We set the release date too hastily. It’s a hard lesson, one to take to heart for the future. We know what we want to do to make Wild Hunt one of the best RPGs you will ever play. And we continue to work hard to achieve just that. So, we apologize and ask for your trust.

Thank you for the all support you show us on a daily basis. We truly do appreciate it. It has fueled us in our passion since the start and will continue to do so.

The delay sucks but at least you will have a smooth running game when it arrrives. Instead of them trying to patch it for the next 6 month to make it run smoothly.

Sucks about the delay but in the end its good for us. So it looks like I'll have Order:1886, Bloodborne and Resident Evil:Revelations 2 to keep me busy until this is out.

Still haven't decided on that one yet. Hoping for a physical copy down the road. Duck Tales got one.

What's wrong with these people. They're supposed to release their game on the scheduled date whether it runs or not bugs and all. That's what it takes if you wanna g ave a big game. These guys and their quality control...

Gamestop is on life support. As each new generation passes, we get closer and closer to a 100% digital age of gaming. It's practically already there with PC's. There will come a time where console gaming will be 100% digital as well.

Personally I hate Gamestop. It's rare that I walk in that store where I'm not harassed to either sign up for something, join something, pay extra for something (warranties), buy some add on, etc. It's annoying as hell.

Don't they post record profits each year?
