Your claims of wanting to purchase this title (and others) from Twilight Time seem dubious at best, as a cursory glance at your posting history shows nothing but TT bashing from you. Is that really the only reason you come to this site?

How sad.

Using the preorder notification feature on this site won't work for TT titles.

This site only tracks titles from the following sites assuming the profile has an appropriate store product ID stored with the profile:

Amazon, Best Buy, Zavvi, Target, WBshop, Flipkart, YesAsia.com, and CDON.com

Thus the profile page for TT releases will never show as being available for preorder given that TT titles are only available from Screen Archives or TCM.

Dude, seriously. The preorder date has been IN THE TITLE of this thread for months. If you didn't learn your lesson the last time this was released, that's definitely your own fault. Let it go, and buy the import. It's not like you don't have options.

I am annoyed I missed several titles during TT's first couple years because I was overseas working and didn't pay attention to blu ray stuff, assuming I could buy it all when I got home. THAT sucks, and is a reason to dislike this limited edition model.

However being home, knowing the release is coming, knowing the day it's open to orders and then forgetting all about it and complaining no one reminded you? That's silly, you obviously didn't care much if you just forgot about it. I am no Fright Night super fan but I wanted it for 80's cheese and knew to stop by that day to order it. It wasn't hard.

There are definitely faults in the limited edition model that screw some people out of a chance to own it, but not reminding you after you knew the situation isn't one of those faults.

What was it for months and months and months and months before it opened for preorder?

Thanks yet again, TT. Great business practice of ensuring only the very limited few who were in-the-know enough to be signed up on half a dozen different websites and an equal number of exclusive email addresses might... just might... have been notified in time to order this on its actual release-for-preorder date a month ago that was never announced to anyone outside that exclusive list. The 10,000s who weren't will, of course, enjoy the pleasure and privilege of paying three and four and five times the price to get a scalper's extra. Yeay!
If you spent just a sliver of the energy on noting the on-sale date of TT titles you want than you have spent on complaining afterwards here and on their facebook page, you'd have easily gotten a copy. It's not rocket science and the information was readily available to anyone who looked for it. But you want to be handheld and get a personal reminder? And for someone who keeps saying they are "working" all the time and have no time to show up on these boards, you sure spend a hell of a lot of time and energy on here complaining. Guess your work schedule isn't as hectic as you pretend it is. Move on and learn from YOUR mistake.

As being a member here and even submitting email addresses on their notification lists doesn't ensure any such... then how does one ensure notification?! And please keep in mind that unlike (apparently) many or even most here who were notified in time, myself and many others don't have time in our busy work schedules to check this website or its forums on an hourly or even a daily basis waiting on baited breath for the blessed moment when TT might deem to "grace" Humanity with the next of its pontifical pre-order pronouncements. So for the working class out there like myself... how can we help ensure we are able to be notified in time to pre-order before the paltry units TT chooses to produce for each title are gone?
We knew about it because we come here and read about (and discuss) upcoming titles in the forum. You only come here every once in a blue moon to bash TT, so you missed out.

It's just that simple.

The notification list is for blu-ray's that will be sold by Amazon. Twilight Time blu-ray's are not sold by Amazon. In the future if there is a Twilight Time blu-ray that you want to own, check the films thread on this website a little over a month before its release date. You will then know the preorder date.

Yes because the only choices available are to come here once every 11-12 months or come here every day.

If you'd checked once every few weeks, even once a month, you'd have known about the release and to watch for a preorder date. You're not an active participant in the forum and you missed out because of it. Would you like us to call a waaaaambulance for you?

Bottom line: it's no one's fault but your own that you missed out on this release. Crying about it and bashing TT won't change that. Quite frankly, I doubt you ever had any intention of buying this or any other title you've complained about missing out on.

I think Khemin is the only one here who works for a living. He must think all the rest of us (yes, the old cliche) "live in our parents' basement" and have nothing else to do all day except post on these forums. None of us have jobs or busy schedules.

I work full time and I'm still able to check the boards and see when stuff comes out. If you know about an upcoming title that's getting a limited release (like all of Twilight Time's stuff), it doesn't take more than five minutes to look at the first post in the thread, which is usually updated once the presale date is known. Plus, if you have a Facebook account, you can follow Twilight Time on there, where they post a lot of updates as well (which normally trickles down to here after it's posted).

Over 5000 copies were sold in under three days, with a great deal of the copies limited to one per customer; it's not as exclusive of a club as you make it out to be.

Aw man, didn't know this was a thing (I never really visit this board, usually just the deals one). Well, I'll definitely be on the lookout for it if it ever becomes available again. I'm not familiar with TT, do they ever do second runs?

Your incoherent ramblings aren't helping anyone, all it's doing is disrupting the forum. Helping means actually contributing something worthwhile to this site, such as information about release dates, discs specs, etc. The few posts you've made, pretty much all revolve around TT, and I don't see anything productive about them, where they could possibly "help" a member in any way shape or form, like you claim that you are trying to do.

Take some responsibility for yourself once in your adult life. Why rely on others to notify you. As was stated by others, the time and date it went up for pre-order/sale wasn't some big secret. As a member you have access to the same information and resources we do. Do you own a cell/mobile phone? If so, you simply could have notified yourself, by setting an alarm in advance.

This is the second run. You need to hope they'll renew it three years from now or just order from overseas.

I made the same mistake of assuming the notification feature would let me know the availability of Mysterious Island. When I finally figured out it didn't help I investigated why and made sure I didn't miss another release from TT!

I thought so. Wasn't sure if the first release was TT or not. Ah well :/ you would think when the remake came out it would get a wide release to promote it, but that obviously didn't happen.

Here's the thread for the upcoming TT release of The Bounty. Do you see any pre-order release date either in the title or the forum discussion? Yeah... neither do I. And unless we all check it repeatedly, we won't until it's announced and everyone rushes to buy this one, too. Of course, as this is no where near as popular a release as Fright Night, those with jobs might actually have a chance at this one, at least.

This is the only post you need to refer to, regarding Twilight Time release dates and preorder dates. Bookmark it and check it every two months or so. It's the first post of the TT sticky thread.

For starters, only the Horror titles really ever sell out in a few hours/days. Most other twilight time titles sell for a few days/weeks/months. I've been able to get every twilight time title I wanted thus far. I recently switched jobs and had no problems ordering Fright Night. Prior to this past fall I was working 70+ hours per week, and still was able to find the time to place orders. Second...

Quote:
The Bounty (1984) - March 10, 2015
Is clearly posted in the title. Twilight time always put's up pre-orders 3-4 weeks before the release date. But even without that tidbit of info, they'll announce the day pre-orders will begin a week or 2 before the actual pre-order date, and for especially hot titles (i.e. Horror movies) that info will be repeated ad nauseum and added to the first post of the films thread. Considering Fright Night 30th anniversary has over 2000 posts and "The Bounty has a whooping 38, I doubt you'll have to worry about that one selling out.

With all of that said, there are several different options to choose from for Fright Night. You have several different region free releases that cost less than $20 to order from overseas, and for just a bit more can easily be picked up off of ebay. You can purchase from a scalper if you're hellbent on getting a Twilight Time edition, or you can always look into the the little thing called the internet for a "free" copy. I don't particularly care for Twilight times Business model myself, but when there are other alternatives out there, it's hard for anyone to really be that upset this go round.
