Not even looking at this thread! Mine shows up next month.

I've already had two major things spoiled by 1) yacking neighbors and 2) stupid advertised website. Don't need a 3rd on here.

I got the first two free from a promotion on audible.com and they are narrated by Roy Dotrice. I didn't know they had different narrators. The one I have is actually pretty good. It's very interesting to listen to the backstory of many of the characters that are mostly implied or not mentioned (for obvious time limiting reasons) on the show.
I'm a 1/3rd way through and I'm surprised by how much of the material made it to the show in the first season. At times it can seem to drag on because of how much description is there for each scene but I think it's great.

And I too have the books but haven't gotten round to reading them lol.

there are whole paragraphs in the books i skip right over where Martin goes into such detail about people who aren't an important part of the story.

1 big one i remember is when he starts detail the coat of arms of the knights entered in the tournament in King's Landing.

I did that all the time or at the very least just skimmed those sections. There's so much fluff and detail in those books that make them so long.

Books 4 and 5 are 50% fluff. Which is why they are going to work really well as one whole season.

Me, I like to digest every word!

I sure hope none of these folks go near the Wheel of Time series! Of the 14 books, each being ~800 pages. Of those 800 pages, only about 150 is actual dialog.

If there is a God in heaven, he will convince HBO to pick this series up, OR let Peter Jackson make 4 trilogies for theatrical release!

[Show spoiler]Photos have leaked for Season 5 and it's safe to say that Season 5 will surpass where the books have left off. Looks like Jorah and Tyrion will meet Dany this season.

I literally had to flip a coin to decide which of the new covers to get. It ended up heads so house Martell it is!!! I just placed a pre-order today because I don't want to miss out on it.

Yeah these were leaked several months ago.
[Show spoiler]Some storylines like Sansa's are already going to be book 6 material at the start of the season.

I flipped a coin too and still ended up preordering both of them .

If I absolutely cannot decide then I'm probably just going to sell one of sets inside the slipcover and probably won't be out more than a few extra bucks over the other set I bought.

I can't decide. Martell or Tyrell. Both played large roles in S4. Would either be better suited for S5 assuming BB brings them back?

Both will have roles in Season 5, there will be several new Martell characters, so it's likely we will see a Martell slip next year as well. We are also due for a Stannis slip in the future.
