I do wish those things weren't so damn pricy. I still won't bite on the DVDs.

I don't buy a lot of pre-70's stuff so I haven't really had this issue. It is a shame most older movies seem to go straight to MOD.

Yeah when they finally did a widescreen DVD of the Black Scorpion I wondered why they didnt try for an HD release.
Its like some studios dont seem to understand how potent and powerful (in a good way) the horror / scifi genre is at this moment.
More Warner sci fi MOD titles that Id take a blu over an MOD
The Valley of Gwangi
7 Faces of Dr. Lao
The Giant Behemoth
The Green Slime
(which has an HD master streaming, hello ! put it on blu ray ! )
This short list doesnt even include their home video DVD releases or their classic film line.. Id love blu rays of Them, Mildred Pierce, The Big Sleep etc..

Most of my collection has the WB logo on it every time I look at my shelves, especially DVDs. They arent sitting on their titles, but it sure has taken a long time to get around to it. Of course there might be reasons for that too

I have a feeling their home video department is woefully understaffed to handle a catalog that size.

That could be a problem. How are they supposed to handle the impending wave of catalog titles that's coming, according to Robert Harris at HTF?

Oooooh yeah, best theme around!

Bought that Warner Archives DVD and stuck it in one of those green Xbox 360 cases. Looks extra Green Slimey, now!

If you watch on Amazon or Deep Discount, they're sometimes about 10 bucks or so. You can also add them for sales on DD for even cheaper. All the ones I have bought always looks great through upconversion.

I'll keep my eyes out. I really want to see Black Scorpion.

Though TCM runs a lot of these too.

A lot of people don't know this, but the Green Slime are big record collectors.

Chet Baker, huh? Big jazz guy? I was trying to identify other records in that picture but I couldn't. I definitely heard the LPs of the first bunch of Pat Metheny Group albums about 200 times each when I was a youngun, but that's about my only experience with vinyl, apart from Weather Report and a whole variety of ridiculous 70s fusion acts (Matrix, Jean Luc Ponty, etc). :P

That Green Slime thing is awesome, by the way. I still have some of the stupid old bandai godzilla figures I got about 15 years ago in a box somewhere, if they were heavy enough to use as bookends I totally would.
