To anyone complaining about why they are even rebooting this, news flash - this will in no way impact your enjoyment of the Harrison Ford films!
There will be plenty of people who will enjoy this, you have no obligation to watch it or even accept it. ![]() Count me in as another Chris Pratt supporter. ![]() |

I'm... actually cool with this. Way better than what some people are saying. Bradley Cooper? Hell no.
It would kind of mirror Harrison's career too. He went from Han Solo to Indy and Pratt would be going from Starboard to Indy. Makes sense. It would be cool to do a pre- Raiders film, which could have characters we've heard about but never seen like Marion's father (Abner was it?) |

Saw someone suggest Emily Blunt for Indy on twitter WHICH would be an amazing choice. Pratt already has The Lego Movie, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Jurassic Park franchises to lead. Give one to Emily! She definitely has the physicality and wit for the role.

Why don't they just create a new franchise? If Indy is based off of the old series movies, why can't they just create someone new in the same style instead of rebooting this character? I am getting a little tired of this recasting bit. When it is James Bond who existed in novels before the film, it is fine since the actor adjusts to the established role. With guys like Indy and James Kirk, the actor is atleast partially responsible for the character. Recasting/rebooting changes that character so why not create someone new? If you can't see Cooper or Pratt delivering the lines in the original films, then they shouldn't be rebooting with them since that is Indiana Jones.

Pratt would make a great Indy because he would probably be the character rather than "be an actor trying to act like Indy." That's why he was so good as Peter Quill. Basically he's the total opposite of what Johnny Depp and Meryl Streep do - acting self-aware that they are "awesome actors" and are not actually the characters they play but are just parodies of them. This also happened with Ford in Crystal Skull - he was too self-aware of how the character should act and ended up parodying the Indiana Jones character. Old age wasnt the problem. The problem is that his acting has been worse or too self-aware or self-consious to be believable in his last roles. |

There can be dozens of Draculas and Sherlocks and Bonds and Batmans and Supermans but only one Indy or Kirk? That seems a little arbitrary, no? I loved John Astin and Carolyn Jones but Raul Julia and Angelica Huston were awfully good too. Change can be good. |
