I don't know how anybody can watch the Seahawks and not see that the reason they are so successful defensively is that they push the boundaries of legal play constantly.

Way more than most teams.

It's not a myth, and the reality is that in spite of being the most penalized team in the NFL the gap is smaller than it should be, because the officials do stop calling it after a while.

Looks like I botched it not buying Super Bowl tickets right after the conference title games when tickets were around $2,400. I did a lot of research into past Super Bowl ticket price trends and they almost always went down significantly about a week before the game. This year has been completely different as the tickets have kept going up in price, with the cheapest ticket on Stub Hub nearly $7,000 now. I'm going to go to the stadium Sunday early in the afternoon and hopefully be able to scalp a ticket from someone desperate as it gets closer to game time for around $2,200, but I'm not confident.

You could just go out and buy a huge, top of the line 4K HDTV and invite all the friends over to watch for that price.

$8000 is outrageous.

If any of you guys end up going and scalping tickets, take extreme caution... When I went to our Super Bowl in ATL, the poor couple next to us got kicked out for having fake tickets that they had scalped. They were pretty much heartbroken, as I would be too.

Back in 08, I was so confident we would go all the way, I almost purchased Super Bowl tickets way in advance. Glad I didn't. We're the Titans... Best team in the regular season twice... One and done twice. Both against the Ravens. Both fluky games where we beat ourselves. I HATE them!

In the future, purchasing them way in advance might be the best route anyways. If your team doesn't make it, the resell value is huge, and you'll profit.

With my current income, or lack thereof, there's no way I'd go for $8k, as hardcore a fan I may be.

I enjoyed this completely serious Tweet:

Quote:
RJ Bell ‏@RJinVegas
Bettors favors Heads so much that some sportsbooks are actually making it cheaper to bet Tails in an effort to even action.
On a side note, in the 48 Super Bowl coin tosses heads has come up 24 times, and tails has come up 24 times. In addition the Patriots have been very lucky with the coin toss this year, winning the toss in 14 out of 18 games.

Marshawn masterfully trolls the media hacks once again.

Quote:
In the clip above, Lynch incredulously addresses the reporters who have once again arrived to ask him questions that he has no intention of answering. He doesn't really understand why they keep showing up and doing this, and he tells them so: "All week, I done told y'all what's up, and for some reason, y'all continue to come back and do the same thing that y'all did." He then reminds them that he once again will not be answering any questions.

The reporters show up to see what phrase he's going to say this time. Then they count how many times he says that one phrase. They write an article about it, and we read it. It's a sad process and we all share some of the guilt

Blandino said the referee does not log the PSI during the pregame ball check. They're either approved or disapproved.

Jeff Howe @jeffphowe
What a disaster that was for the NFL.

Blandino said the NFL will talk with football maker Wilson in the offseason about possibly changing the inflation range.

So the refs approved the balls and felt fine to the touch...so....yeah some solid info has come of this mess. Good job NFL, ESPN reporters ect.....what a joke this thing has been

Well, there's one thing "deflategate" didn't deflate and that was the betting line. Seattly opened up at -2.5 and now New England is giving up 1.
All I want to see is tie game at half time, then I'll be playing with some nice house money!

Apparently Josh Gordon's DWI suspension included a stipulation that he couldn't drink during the season. His failed drug test came after a flight with teammates on Jan 2, after the Browns season, but not what the NFL considers the "season".

Very similar to last year's line. Seahawks opened a small favorite, Denver was favored by 2.5 on game day. Within the first 24 hours of the line opening 80% of all bets were on the Patriots. The anti-Seahawk bias among fans seems to be real. Brady/Belichick Patriots teams are 1-4 against the spread in the Super Bowl.

The whole thing is very surprising to me. Prior to this I think almost all football fans had just assumed the referees/NFL was responsible for supplying and preparing the footballs for games. I wonder if this sort of thing goes on in other major sports. Maybe the teams handle and supply baseballs, basketballs and hockey pucks for those pro sports and we just don't know it.

I know...first guy to report it was that joke of a reporter for Indy...sour grapes IMO. I knew once Kraft came out...no way pats did a thing. He wouldn't put his rep on the line like that...hell brady wouldn't either. But of course everyone here jumped to the conclusion they did it with no hard evidence but won't admit it at all.

Maybe the Pats should hire some people of their own to look into people high up in the NFL...
