Wow. I'm very pleased with the Network 40% offer. Placed 2 orders last Saturday and the first one just arrived with FedEx! The Lodger, Things To Come, Animal Farm and Richard III. I hope the second delivery is fast too - waiting for The Prisoner, Medusa Touch, Countess Dracula, Hands Of The Ripper and Odd Man Out.

That'll be Sony DADC then, they're actually pretty good with deliveries (if they have things in stock at the warehouse).

I just noticed Network are being tricky again with release dates for forthcoming titles. Dream Home is still not certain - on the Network site it says April 20th but Amazon are saying May 25th. To Die For and The Flying Deuces seem to have been swapped round (the former is now May 11th and the latter now June 15th). Anyone know which is more reliable?

Also would like to know if we're ever gonna see Insignificance...

In other news, my sale order arrived - The Shout, Unearthly Stranger and Weekend at Bernies. Am still tempted to get The Ipcress File and/or The Medusa Touch...and then keep looking at Animal Farm, The Prisoner, and the Larrain DVD's...dammit, sales come with mixed emotions!

Had planned to order a few things in the Network sale but they both add postage so the threshhold for charges must have been reduced since the last sale.

And very disappointed to see their recent Gerry Anderson Limited Edition releases are included in the sale.
Last time I pre-buy one of their LE titles

Hmm, how many are you ordering? I ordered 3 and didn't get charged. If it's over three or four, why not make separate orders? Place the second order after the first one's been dispatched?

Why not order them seperately, a few days apart?

They don't need to be ordered days apart.
There's no problem with splitting large orders into several smaller ones.

But the items I'm looking at are boxsets.
In the last sale the same boxsets were available postage free - now they're not.
There seem no logic to it. The huge Robin Hood set is postage free yet the smaller sets of B&W Saint and PD James both charge postage.

5 single disc titles seems to be the max for free postage though but not getting those this time

I saw it in the forthcoming section but it's not in the blu-ray section for some reason.

Balls....The Nightcomers has been delayed a week, love that flick. Did I imagine it or was there a Michael Winner commentary on one of the DVD's?

Yes, the US release had a commentary: http://dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=11386 This isn't on the new UK Blu-ray.

Shame Winner's commentary isn't on The Nightcomers, his comm track on The Sentinel is one of the funniest things I've heard.

That commentary for THE SENTINEL is brilliant. His autobiography, WINNER TAKES ALL, is also worth reading: it's filled with similar stories.

Winner's audio commentary for The Sentinel is a thing of joy and worth the price of the budget disc on its own, whether he's regaling you with the tale of how Universal head honcho Ned Tanen rejected Martin Sheen and insisted on Chris Sarandon for the lead only to wonder who "that awful Greek waiter" was playing the lead when he saw the rushes or admitting that he added a scene in Tuscany for a free holiday at the end of the shoot and included lots of party scenes with pretty girls to improve his chances of getting laid. It doesn't exactly follow what's happening on screen, but it's more than outrageously frank and blustering enough for you not to care. I'm gutted to learn that he recorded one for The Nightcomers but it's not on the DVD - I can only imagine what delights we're missing out on.

Budget disc? I assume you mean the DVD as the BD is hardly budget

I didn't even know there was a BD release anywhere, but it looks like there's nothing on the German release that isn't on the UK DVD which you can usually pick up for well under a fiver.

The transfer on the German BD is no great shakes anyway, a 3/5 at best.

As an owner of the old Deadlier than the Male / Some Girls Do Network double dvd edition, I am quite tempted to upgrade to bluray since Deadlier is one of my top favorites spy movies, but I'd really like to get Some Girls Do as an extra in the disc.

Thinking I might order something from their 40% off sale, how long do they normally take for UK deliveries?
