Latino Review just got bought by a major company because their content has been so good lately...And their scoops have been on par a lot lately. So, I'd trust them. Especially with BAD backing them over the last few months as well.
Well, it appears that everyone else seems to be trusting this info as it's showing up on a lot of other sites sourcing Latino Review. I'll be honest in that I haven't been following their work as of late, but I stopped paying attention to their scoops after the whole World War Hulk debacle.

With Drew Goddard directing, all is going extremely well. Please, Sony, do not f*ck this up...

I'd honestly prefer Logan Lerman in the lead role, but I think Dylan O'Brien could be pretty good. We'll see.

More Details on Whether or Not Drew Goddard Will Direct Marvel's Spectacular Spider-Man
Quote:
Following the very interesting details about Spider-Man which found their way online earlier today (find those here if you missed them), the trades have added some additional information about where the deal with Drew Goddard stands. As it turns out, The Wrap cautions that it's not quite a done deal, with their insiders adding: "Drew has not yet met with Marvel but will soon; along with several others." The Cabin in the Woods helmer is said to be a heavy favorite and it's not believed he will pass if it's offered to him. The Hollywood Reporter get even more specific though, confirming that the studios are very interested in having Goddard both write and direct, and that he's set to meet them TOMORROW. The deal isn't signed then, but expect to hear something official sometime in the coming weeks and months.

The Russo Brothers Sign With Sony Pictures; Possible Spider-Man Involvement?

Quote:
Captain America: Civil War directors Joe and Anthony Russo have signed a three-year first-look deal with Sony Pictures Entertainment. Given the recent Marvel/Sony deal, does this mean they could helm a Spidey flick for the studio at some point?

In an interesting development, Captain America: The Winter Soldier directors Joe and Anthony Russo have entered into a three-year first-look deal for feature films with Sony Pictures Entertainment. Though no specific projects are mentioned, given the duo's Marvel background there's a possibility they'll be involved in Sony's future Spider-Man/Spidey spin-off plans in some capacity, once the character makes his Marvel debut.

Speaking of which, the trades mention that the Webhead is indeed "expected" to make his first appearance for the studio in Captain America: Civil War, which the Russos will also direct. Not 100% confirmation, but it looks like a safe bet at this point. Here's what the brothers had to say about the deal: "We’re thrilled to make a home at Sony Pictures, and to be partnering with the entire team. The studio has created an environment that is not only collaborative, but truly filmmaker-friendly and we’re excited to begin developing both new and ambitious material with them." Apparently Drew Goddard is only taking meetings about the Spider-Man directing gig at the moment, so there's always the possibility someone could nab it the last minute.

Doesn't a first-look deal mean that Sony gets first look at any pitches/ideas they have for the coming 3 years, regardless of wether they pick them up or not? I don't think a contract like this has anything to do with attaching themselves to any existing/future projects.

Yeah, I think the point of the article is just to say that the Russos now have an even closer relationship with Sony (their "home" for the next three years, essentially), which means they could be tapped for/involved with Spider-Man projects.

I'm a fan of him, for once an actor who looks like he could play a teenaged Peter Parker, just change the hair style so he doesnt come across as a Garfield wannabe and I'm sold. He even resembles the Parker that Romita drew in the 60's which is what I always wanted.

As for the director spot, please let it be Goddard. He's tailor made for Spider-Man. Look at his previous episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. (which as so many people have said before was the greatest Spider-Man show that never featured Spider-Man.) The quick humor mixed in with the badass crime and demon fighter persona. Sure he came in late to the show, but some of his episodes were the best of the final season.

Chances of this reboot being better than Raimi's Spider-Man 2?

Dylan O'Brien Addresses Spider-Man Rumors
Quote:
Not too long after Marvel and Sony had announced their new plans for Spider-Man, which entail an all-but-confirmed appearance in Captain America: Civil War before a Spectacular standalone movie, the only two names mentioned for the Peter Parker role were Percy Jackson's Logan Lerman and The Maze Runner star Dylan O’Brien. Well, now the latter young actor has finally addressed those reports that he's under consideration for coveted part. “Professionally, I haven’t heard anything about it,” O’Brien told Buzzfeed today while on the set of MTV's Teen Wolf. “I’ve only heard from, like, [rumors] online. It feels so weird to say,” he said, laughing, about not knowing where the rumor originated. “It’s so funny. My friends from New Jersey are calling me. They’re like, what are you not telling me, dude?! Spider-Man?! It makes me feel bad because I’m, like, disappointing a big chunk of fans across the nation. You can tell them that it’s not true.” Even though the rumor isn't true, that certainly doens't mean Dylan O’Brien wouldn't be interested in playing the Webslinger on the big-screen. “It’s nothing but flattering,” he said. “It’s never something I would want to get myself excited about, since I know I haven’t heard about it from a professional standpoint,” he said. “I’ve always wanted to play Peter Parker, obviously. I feel like any actor my age, that’s, like, a big thing. And my name being tossed with Logan Lerman’s is the coolest thing ever, too. I just think that kid is [frick]ing fantastic.” He continued, laughing, “It’s really just, you know, I guess I’ll see if I even hear about it? But thank you, internet, for giving me false hope!”

As long as Spider-Man isn't a robot in the reboot, I'm fine. I'm tired of robots being forced on us and CAN WE AT LEAST JUST HAVE A NON-ROBOT SPIDER-MAN?!

Mark my words, Ultron is just going to end up making us all forced to be robotically correct.

Freddie Highmore Weighs In On Possibly Playing Marvel's SPIDER-MAN

Quote:
Logan Lerman and Dylan O'Brien are the only two names to so far emerge as being possible contenders for the new Spider-Man, but everyone from Josh Hutcherson to Donald Glover have been weighing in on whether they would be interested in playing the iconic wall-crawler.

The latest is Bates Motel star Freddie Highmore. Talking to IGN about the upcoming third season of the Psycho prequel, talk soon turned to how he feels about support from fans when it comes to him playing Peter Parker on the big screen. "Obviously I would love to be considered," he revealed, stating the obvious for any young up and coming actor. "That would be fantastic. I guess we'll just see how things go." As for the appeal of the character, he said that, "you always feel like you can identify with him. He's that kind of guy at school who wasn't perhaps in the really cool group, but who was extremely intelligent and managed to find confidence in being Spider-Man - in this other side to his life."
comicbookmovie.com/fansites/JoshWildingNewsAndReviews/news/?a=116231

Nothing against Highmore, but I'm on the Dylan O'Brien or Logan Lerman train.

I definitely wouldn't want Hutcherson for the role. I saw his screen test for the Amazing series and it was terrible. He's too short, jaw is too square, voice is too deep, looks nothing like Peter Parker.

Was talking with a friend the other day and it came up, but what about Darren Criss for Peter Parker?

We both thought he'd be a good choice. I think he could do it pretty damn well if I'm honest.

I hope the next Spiderman movie makes so much money that the FF join the MCU next . I for one have never seen a Spiderman movie at the theater yet , only because Marvel did not make it , from now on I will be supporting Spiderman as much as all the other Marvel movies and hoping that I can support the Fantastic Four soon too .

Do a trilogy with Peter, bring in Miles/Ben Reilly for his own film or two and then give us a Spider-Man 2099 some time around 2027 or 2030

I would LOVE to see a Spider-Man 2099 film some day

I think the Spiderman debate has gotten to fever pitch with fans as we havn't had a good film that has felt settled in a going somewhere since Spiderman 2 in 2004.

was the Amazing Spiderman franchise rushed after Sam Raimi's spiderman, probably and they shot themselves in the foot with the Sequel.

i think as a fan base we just gotta draw 'another' line in the sand and start again with Spiderman but now with him being in the bigger universe, Spidermans wont feel so empty from now on.

Spiderman should start out with Peter Parker; let's see how the MCU handles him... Then afterward, they could do a Spider-verse.
