I'm really looking forward to this. I'll very likely get this day 1. I'm hoping this has a good trophy list. I'm really starting to enjoy being a trophy hunter. I like challenging games too so this should be up my alley. I'm thinking I might get the Collector's Edition of this game but not totally sure yet, we'll see if I can find one on release day.

1) The Japanese Bloodborne site was updated today with a lot of new online play details.

Translated details per a banned site:

Co-op is still the same as in the network alpha, hosts use a Lulling Bell to request help and the game automatically matches them to a helper who has used the Small Resonant Bell (there are no summon signs in Bloodborne)
Co-op ends when a boss is defeated or the host or guests die, or the host uses Parting Shot on a guest
Players can create a "Watchword" of 8 characters that will allow them to co-op with only people who have the same Watchword. This does not work for PVP.
You can invade other people by using an Ominous Ringing Bell, the goal of invasion is to defeat the host.
[Note: mistranslation here - invaders can use Parting Shot to end an invasion, host cannot use Parting Shot on them], and invasions will also end if the invader dies or the host enters a boss area.
Some areas will have a Bell Maiden already present, and she lures invaders to your world.
The Bell Maiden may also appear when you request/begin co-op.
In the Chalice Dungeon you may see "illusions" of other players in the same part of the dungeon (this is different from the network test alpha where you could see illusions anywhere, this point implies they will only exist in CD- then again, a screenshot below shows an illusion in Central Yharnam, so the language might be unnecessarily restrictive).
You can click someone's Messenger tombstone to see how they died anywhere in the game.
You can click someone's Messenger notes to tongue but hole
There are 2 types of Chalice Dungeon: normal and generated.
You can only generate a dungeon online, but you can play either type online or offline.
You can share generated dungeons online.
PS+ is required for pvp/co-op, asynchronous features (notes/tombstones/phantoms), and sharing your Chalice Dungeon configuration. You can download patches and other people's Chalice Dungeon configurations without PS+.
There will be a Day One patch (improve performance/online gameplay usability).

2) According to a redditor's photo of the Bloodborne display case, the minimum HDD size is 41GB.

So it's not too much different from DSII. I don't know if the bell is an improvement over summon signs or not. I wonder if you can summon from any location, even the boss room, if you decide you need help? That would be a plus.

But the summon signs were nice in that you could see a ghost of the character you were summoning, and know if it was something that would complement your playstyle against a particular enemy. And you could summon or not summon a player you had played with before, if you recognized the name. The new matching system sounds like you just get randomly matched up. Not so good, if you play a tank and want a spellcaster to help you out, or vice versa.

Interactive Trailer

After a certain point, you get a code for a free static theme available 3/11/15. The code is universal, so those who don't want to go through the steps:
[Show spoiler]J4ND-DJNH-K3C7
(I believe this code is for North America only)

Do you like that theme?

It's not very attractive. It would be better with a dark background as opposed to bright white.

Oh, I haven't seen it yet. I'll probably stick to my Order dynamic theme anyway. I like the music on that one.

Edit: Just watched a video. I agree, a little too bright.

Edge's review will be out tomorrow, and they gave the game their new cover:

Some pages have apparently leaked (they seem to always do, do they?)

Note: these are from third party accounts suposedly seen on leaked scans of the pages, so to be taken with a grain of salt.

[Show spoiler]

"Bloodborne's world is a masterpiece"

"More coherent than Dark Souls"

"Bloodborne is Hidetaka Miyazaki's brutal riposte to the section of his playerbase that thinks it has seen it all before"

"Gone is the dark fantasy, the faded crumbled majesty of the Souls series. Bloodborne is filthy, grisly, and very, very scary. It's a horror game."

"There is a moment in Dark Souls that we will never forget: Down in the depths picking up an item from a corpse and a slime dropping on to our head. We spent the rest of the level panning the camera for unseen threats. No longer scared of dying, but of moving. Imagine a whole game like that."

'As if there was ever any doubt, Miyazaki and his team have done it all over again'.

Supposedly they are at 40+ hours in the game at some point, and haven't finished the game, delved into PVP, or into the Chalice CoOp Dungeon.

Wow, that sounds phenomenal. Looking so forward to this game.

Seems the game doesn't have that good replayability. No problem for me as I can replay any game as long as I liked it the first time around. Doesn't matter if it changes that much or not.

Remember the good ol' days when replay value in a game just meant that it was so damn fun you just HAD to play it over and over? When did gaming change to where we had to have extra incentive to replay a game other than the fact that it's a blast to play?

When they went to 3-d and had overly complex control schemes, bad collision detection and cameras that sucked. The last couple of generations I've found myself wrestling with games/controls and forcing myself to finish them rather than having fun and being immersed. Not to say I haven't had games I've enjoyed despite all this (Enslaved).

Exactly, I'll always replay a game if I had fun playing it the first time.

Noe everyone needs trophies, MP etc. Regardless of how fun a game is if it doesn't have anything extra for playing it again most forget it.
