Default This guys a moderator?

I went to DVDaficianado to add some movies and see my database. Well they changed the layout to a horribly inefficient one. I'll be going elsewhere now but that's another story.

I had a problem and went to their forum to check on a solution. I then ran into the "Rotted Blu-Ray disc" thread. There was one blu owner who put up a word of caution saying that this could possibly be FUD and not to jump to conclusions. The moderator jumped on his butt saying:

This the problem with you jcrotty, every negative HD DVD-related tidbit from god-knows-who is gospel, yet when even actual Blu-ray owners face problems with your beloved format of choice, oh no, they must be secretly Blu-ray haters! - Mod

The person responds saying he has never bashed HD-DVD.

The mod then trolls him after quoting him out of context:
"My bias is for this format issue to be resolved ASAP." - jcrotty
So you're finally buying a HD DVD player? Awesome! - Mod

What an A$$hole. Please do not go there to troll but if you are like me and have an account go to higher ground.

Wow, that is funny, Ken.

He's broken over half of their so called rules. This is a great example why some sites seem to be so pro-HD-DVD.

Their supposed rules-

Our behavior is important to us:
1. We encourage participation and discussion with good content and the sharing of reasoned opinion and useful information.
2. We respect each other’s opinions even if we don’t agree with them.
3. We explain our own views and do not just state them.
4. We talk to each other as colleagues and friends. There’s no place for four letter words, or for flaming, or for put downs. We try to keep sarcasm to a minimum.
5. We encourage friendly and informal on topic discussion, where people feel welcome to share their views. While there is a role for friendly chit chat, we keep it brief.
6. We keep the topics positive because we know negative threads tend to become magnets for sarcasm and put downs.

7. We respect this forum as a place to discuss films. There are other forums on the net for people to conduct market place type activities (buy, sell, coupons and deals) and for the discussion of social, political and religious issues. We take these activities and discussions to other sites designed for that purpose.
8. We discuss new ideas and explore the world of films in a cordial and respectful manner.

Teehee! Ahh, yes. Good ol' Jayson. I frequent the High Def board there, partly to gawk at the FUDing levels like some grisly train wreck (it's like a microcosm of AVS!), and partly to jump in and PWN him with facts on certain points (to which he never replies... ).

jcrotty is quite the stolid little BD poster there, though. He really gets their feathers ruffled. You guys will probably enjoy this thread particularly - when jcrotty posted the Digital Bits' BD rant.

Shoot, at least that thread is still open. All four (that I can recall, there may have been more) threads on AVMS are locked and gone.

He seems to be very intelligent from what I have read. Normally I would say tell him to come over here, but it's better to have him over there acting as some check on the irrational....sort of like what a moderator is supposed to do.

Amazing stuff (jcrotty is like the Lone Ranger over there). If someone asked me to create a 4-word strapline for HD DVD that encapsulates all the rubbish spouted by HD DVD fans it would have be this:

CHEAP PLAYERS AND PORN

I have a feeling we'll be seeing that on Toshiba HD DVD ads very soon.

Thing to remember is you don't have to have any remote knowledge of HT to be a mod on most boards. You only have to be willing to volunteer your time. I'd bet that if you ask the guy something simple, like what HD DVD stands for, odds are, he'll tell you high definition digital video disc. His motivation seems obvious by his sig. And his knowledge is given away by statements like "the long delayed BD50 format".

I wish all the addholes from all of these forums could just get together and have it out and have a battle royale. That would be awesome. I would stand by and film it in hi-def and make it a blu-ray exclusive titles.

Muhahahaha!!!
