Default PS3 game choice?

I have a $40 gift card to best buy, and was thinking about getting Rainbow six Vegas for $29 ...but Rainbow six Vegas 2 is out for $60.

Is it worth the extra $20 or would I be happy with part 1?

You likely already have it but...

I picked up Resistance Fall of Man today from Best Buy for $19.99 using a $10 off coupon from K-Mart.

Seems like a great game... And you would still have $20 left over on your card.

(but nevermind... you likely already have it.)

I would second that nomination and move that nomination be closed!

I would recommend the follwing if you don't already have them:

MGS4
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Warhawk (even though I don't have it myself)
Assassin's Creed
Tiger Woods '07/'08/'09
NHL '08

Hell, even 'Stuntman Ignition' was more fun than Rainbow Six... for me.

I actually did have resistance about 6 months ago...but it was when I only had my 1080i (only) TV so the game was downscaled to 480p.

So needless to say I only got passed the first couple monsters before I gave up and sold it.

But now I have a 720p LCD, maybe I should give another shot??

They are both great games in my opinion. R6 V I played on the 360 but I have R6:V2 on the PS3 and its a pretty good game in my opinion.

Resistance is a must have for any PS3 owner in my opinion!

people keep saying it but i couldn't get into the game either.. the 480 p issue is definitely annoying but i think i'm going to give it another solid try right before resistance 2 comes out.

As for your original question i haven't played RSV2 but i heard it's a slight upgrade from the first one and some of the new features are actually worth it so i would say pick up the second one. If your not a big FPS fan and don't plan on playing a lot online i'd suggest picking up the first one. In fact if your interested , i still have my copy and we could maybe work something out trade/sell. PM me if interested and good luck!

Out of the games that I have, I recommend:

Grand Theft Auto 4 or Metal Gear Solid 4

They will definately keep you busy.

Warhawk and MGS4 are the best buys I'd say. Warhawk is only $30 and you'll get countless hours out of it. MGS4 is just pure epic (but you probably already know that).

I'm pretty sure I've seen R6V2 get down to $29. Or maybe that is the first one. At any rate, $60 is WAY too much for that game even with the gift card considering you still have to pay the difference out of pocket.

I think you mean RSV1, it's way too soon for RSV2 to drop in price.

I'm horribly stingy with my gift cards, probably more so than with cash/credit. Don't know why, but I guess I benefit from it.

I was thinking about getting RSV2, but I am unsure. Is it similar to the GRAW games? I haven't really gotten into the story mode of GRAW2, but I do like the Co-Op part of GRAW2.

wow, everyone is bashing RB6V. I've only played the first, but IMO its a great game. I've heard the second isn't a gigantic leap above the first. on one blog, i read the only new move in #2 was that you can run??!?!?

I love RB6V1, better than COD4 or RFOM. Just my opinion. I like tactical shooters, as oppose to "run and gun". Sure COD4 has better graphics, but on the graphics/gameplay balance, I like RB6V. Tactically deciding what door to enter a building, what kind of grenade to use, where to hide, how to split up, etc etc...no match IMO
