Nice, but no good for me since I'll definitely be getting a US version. They'll probably have some kind of exclusive cover, and I don't want our ugly ratings sticker on the front. Now I remember it happened the same way last time, it was like torture waiting to get it delivered while it was available in the shops.

Probably placeholder info. I remember some of the previous Marvel films had incorrect info in their initial pre-orders.

My guess is it'll be the standard 2D/3D/Digital and 2D stand alone editions, like Thor 2, Cap 2 and Guardians. Combo packs with DVDs seem to be on the way out, Disney seems to reserve it for animated fare and maybe the odd family-heavy film.

I could see them throwing the DVD in due to an expected higher volume of sales, justifying the cost. Probably just placeholder info though. Who knows. I don't really care either way.

I used to find the DVD good actually, buy the combo pack for $20, sell the DVD for $5, then sell the code for $8, then the blu only cost $7 on release day, not bad.

I posted this on the regular Avengers: Age of Ultron forum thread, but I think this might be the more appropriate forum thread to post this on...
It looks like some extended version with an alternate ending of the movie, might be released on BD and with the regular version of the movie on BD

I'll grab the (more than likely) Best Buy steel. The Phase 2 set should be out around Christmas so I'll refrain from grabbing the film that way (I don't open my steels).

Old news which wasn't updated to note that Amazon UK retracted their description of a extended cut.

I can imagine a alternate ending making it to the BD, but a extended cut is unlikely.

In the specifications for the Walmart listing, for format type, it states BD+Digital Copy even though the title states BD/DVD/Digital HD

They didn't retract it-they said final details have not been set.
There is a possibility that they jumped the gun on announcing it when they did.

As of recently, It's fairly new news to me that an extended version and an alternate ending might be on the BD release. Hopefully, That's still the case despite the fact that Amazon UK retracted their description of an extended cut . And Hopefully It's just that it was too early for them to post it and so that's why they deleted it and will be posted at a later date .

Why do you think the Phase 2 box set will be out around Christmas? Ant-Man is the end of Phase 2 and I figure that will be out late November / early December. Unless they release the box set at the same time, my guess is that the Phase 2 box set will be out in Spring.

I hope your right though, that would be a nice Christmas present if it is out.

Makes sense. Get the Phase 2 box set out in, say, March 2016 part of the build to Civil War. Just wonder if Phase 1 would be reissued as well.

Anyway, I'm hoping Avengers is closer to the beginning of September than the end here in the States. Why make us wait unless they have to? Then again, with all the television shows coming back in August and September and coinciding DVD and blu-ray releases, Marvel just may not want to compete. Can't blame them.

If/when the Steelbook happens, I'd love for them to use the art on that IMAX poster, with the stylized Avengers A in black against a white background. Can't wait to own this, couple buddies of mine wanna go rewatch it theatrically on a discount night but I'd rather just get the Blu-ray, I don't need to see it again so soon.

I'm torn on the steel books. I have not done steel books for any previous Marvels, but I'm considering it. I just dunno if I should start with Avengers and (eventually) Ant-Man or defer to Phase 3 and start with Civil War. I'm on the fence, like to see a preview of what it's going to look like before I pull the trigger.

No it's fan art that has been submitted as the "real" cover.

I thought so too. I've requested it be changed? I've yet to see Disney/Marvel feature any villains prominently on a physical release (Loki being the exception
[Show spoiler]after his *redemption* in Thor 2
). That cover is a long shot at best, they'll want their heroes featured.
