Woot. Already own the 3-disc American Gangster DVD, but this deserves an upgrade. Such a great movie.

I love casino. A few months ago my wife and I started watching it it was late she fell asleep. Now she will get to watch the Blu she never has seen it. Watching nicky beat that guy and stab him with a pen. If you go after nivky you better make sure he's dead cause he will come back after you. Been waiting for gangster too. I saw it on hd it was really good.

Geonosis said it was only the theatrical cut of american gangster, while our website says extended and theatrical.

I wonder which is reality.

Several people commented they hope the BLU ray will not feature the same HD-DVD transfer for CASINO... this was noted on the announcment board on main page.... my question is ... was the HD-DVD master bad? Shed some light on that transfer...

Also on the Blu-ray front today, Universal has just revealed that American Gangster, Casino and Eastern Promises will arrive on BD format on 10/14. Each will SRP for $29.98. You'll also be able to buy all three titles together in a Gangsters Giftset for $89.98. American Gangster will be a single-disc BD-50 release, containing both the theatrical cut and Ridley Scott's longer director's version via seamless branching, each with DTS-HD audio. Without listing them all here, it looks as if ALL the bonus features from the 3-disc DVD version will be included here in standard-definition, along with the U-Control PiP features from the HD-DVD version. Casino appears to include all the previous DVD and HD-DVD features as well, and it looks as if Eastern Promises might actually include two more featurettes than were on any previous edition (for a grand total of four, including Secrets and Stories, Marked for Life, Two Guys Walk into a Bath House and Watts on Wheels).

I liked Eastern Promises. The only thing I wasn't happy about was the end, I wanted more! I was enjoying the movie so much, then it just ended.
