Yep. Two hours is the standard for a reason. If it was a Scorcese crime drama then I would be disappointed, but it's an action movie.

That reminds me, I really need to take one of those movie posters home with me when I leave the theater.

His movies are some of the best examples of bloat.

I'm starting to get slightly hopeful for JURASSIC WORLD. Thought this was a dumb idea from the get go but thinking it over, it's kind of awesome to see Hammond's dream come true with a fully operational park.

For me, this is the 3rd film of a trilogy. F JURASSIC III.

I rewatched JP3 yesterday, and I think it has its moments, but it really is nothing special and doesn't really further anything in any significant way, just a short romp in the park, like a JP 2.5 or so. I mean, it's mostly harmless junk food that's neither good nor bad, it just is. It seems JW is aiming a bit higher than that and I think it might very well succeed to top that bar, even though it's not placed very high. Hopefully it turns out to be an entertaining summer adventure, even though I'd really like to be wowed the same way by this as I was by the first, but which I already know will NEVER happen.

That's a good barometer. See, even though I was the right age when JURASSIC hit, I never saw it in the theatre. I saw THE LOST WORLD first, then JURASSIC so my opinion on the series is slightly skewed. I know the significance of that first film on multiple levels but I find the LOST WORLD the most entertaining to watch front to back.

Having said that, yeah, the T-Rex sequence from the first film is still the benchmark for the entire series. Frankly, trying to top that sequence is futile. It's a one of a kind moment in cinema history.

In reality, all I need from JURASSIC WORLD is to hear the T-Rex roar one time and I'm pretty set. It is, without question, the 2nd greatest sound effect in the history of cinema...only topped by the sound effect of the lightsaber.

The T-Rex roar is my ringtone for my messages on my iPhone. That's how much I love that sound. Chills.

I can understand hating 3, but I can't understand thinking Lost World is good while hating 3. They're almost exactly the same level of quality. They both have their moments of inspiration (ex the Pteranodon scene in 3, the silly T-Rex rampage at the end of 2) and many moments of pure earthshattering awfulness (ex Goldblum's daughter gymnastically kicking a raptor out a window, virtually every time Tea Leoni talks). I saw Lost World in the theater when I was a little 13 year old kiddie and even then was just like "wow, this is really bad compared to the first." I can't imagine the new one will be any worse. In fact, I think it will probably be slightly better. It looks like more fun, if nothing else, given they have Chris Pratt in the lead cruising around on a motorcycle with his raptor buddies.

You should put that in the unpopular opinions thread.

Musician Jimmy Buffett about 10 minutes ago, said that there is a cameo by himself and a song that was written for the movie that he will preform in his typical pre-concert show he streams on Siruis XM. He is also playing the Premiere of the film.

I stopped watching all tv spots, clips and footage about three weeks ago and I don't visit the IMDB message boards anymore either. I'm also going to try to avoid all reviews. I want my experience seeing this opening weekend to be as amazing and surprising as possible.

You're on the right track. I feel like I know too much about the movie's outcome and it'll ultimately ruin the fun when watching it

Not that it matters, I guess, since I inadvertently spoiled myself making this post.

Yeah, the "exclusive" trailer is shown regularly on the Samsung 4k UHD TV's so you really don't have to watch said footage to get the goodies.

Apparently from what I was told by an employee is a special event has been touring select Best Buy stores (about 500 across the U.S.) that features interactive Jurassic World footage seen through Samsung's virtual reality headset. During the event employees would hand out special movie swag (park map, scanbands, trading cards, die-cast metal Jeeps). I missed out on the event for they moved on to the next Best Buy location. Fortunately for me, there was only one park map laying around in the Samsung section and they gave it to me.
