Default power conditioner vs protector

im currently using a monster surge protector i bought years back and was wondering if i should upgrade to a power conditioner. They seam to be quite costly, up to 500 dollars and i was just wondering what benefits i will see.

alot of high end power stations( surge protectors/boxes, No not a actual station haha) filter noises and among other things, and yes you allways want the best you can get(the best you can afford) surge protection is not something to be cheap on

My girlfriends house was recently hit with lightning, it enterted the house fried the cable modem, the router, the xbox 360, and surround sound systems
(2)

and Monster has a warrinty on most of its protectors some up to a couple hundred thousand in replacement

Not bad, i too picked up the Monster HTS 3600 MkII and am happy as a peach with this purchase. It gives a solid piece of mind and above all much improved PQ and SQ. make sure you buy decent one just to assure you are getting the most out of the unit. gl

A good power conditioner will provide both excellent surge protection and filtering of power runs for your audio and video gear. Depending on the quality of your overall power service, a power conditioner could provide a noticable improvement in your system's performance.

APC sells very good power conditioners at reasonable prices.

If you want the best and most expensive (a few thousand), try PS Audio.

Protection yes.... Performance...... "No" I wouldn't say you can classify the performance benefits of any line conditioner as "Huge"

The increase in performance you can expect depends on how clean your power currently is. If your power is questionable, you should get a good increase in performance by using a decent conditioner.

that one looks very nice as well. FOr me I like the LED that tells you the volts/amps in real time. You will see an improvement in the PQ and more so with the AQ, however its more for the pretection that it offers your system in my eyes. I bought the Monster HTS 3600MKII and loving it..
