**ARMY OF DARKNESS Update & New Art!**
Alright you Primitive Screwheads, listen up! (Sorry, we couldn’t resist quoting Bruce.) Here’s the first look at the final & approved newly-designed key art for our upcoming blu-ray release of Sam Raimi’s ARMY OF DARKNESS! Our Blu-ray producer has provided a couple of Q&As that we felt might come up and that some may be curious about:
Q: Is the U.S. Theatrical version a new transfer?
A: Unfortunately, we were not able to do a new transfer of the theatrical cut (which was provided by our partners at Universal). However, we did do additional color correction.
Q: Why is the International version a 4K transfer and not the Director’s Cut?
A: Our original intention was to do a new 4K scan on the director’s cut, so we started with elements that were available in the MGM vault. Unfortunately, we could not find all of the additional footage (film and audio) for the 96 minute Director’s Cut.

Luckily, like Robert Harris said, we're dealing with a new Universal now.

I could wallpaper my house with the artwork from all of the releases of the two Evil Dead films and Army Of Darkness that I have bought going back to the VHS days.

Really small and I could be wrong, but the text underneath looks like it says Demon Knight, Bordello of Blood. Which would make a double feature?

LOL after debacle after debacle, expect over boosted contrast, EE and compression artifacts.

I mean, when they spend a year making a "new transfer" of Dog Soldiers and it actually looks WORSE than the previous disc, you know they are a quality label.

The world? No but the USA does not have a definitive version of the film yet and this release could be great. I can see shout doing a Regular and LE like they did with Nightbreed

To be fair though, EFNY was boosted cause seas of people b*tched about the first one being so dark and the second one was done because the director wanted it that way and was sourced from a film print (which does make it overly contrasty in most cases, see the screencap 88 Films posted in their Burial Ground comparisons).
Havent seen much issues with contrast on any of their other releases.
