Maybe someone can explain that to us?

My yamaha RX-V3800 says 7x140.I read on a site that collectively they can only put out 88 watts(with all the speakers rockin)

Now i don't know if this is true,But it stirs up Questions?
I was thinking of getting the Onkyo TX-SR805 for my next reciever, but this new Yamaha RX-V863 seems like it is also a pretty good one. Comparing the two, which would you guys recommend?

805 hands down. I compared the 805 to the RX-V1800 for quite a while before I bought and the 805 was the way to go for me.

MarcosG,

Really,Its your choice. a lot of people can give you valued opinions on what sounds better but it doesn't make them right (for your ears)

Marantz,Yamaha,Pioneer,Denon and Onkyo all make great recievers. You should make a list of what you want your reciever to do and go from there.

The truth is it can be a difficult decision.I had a Marantz 7002 in my house then i exchanged it to a Yamaha ,and the true is if i didn't like the yamaha i would of put a pioneer in my home.I think i might of went through all the recievers i thought were worthy until i was happy.

The only way (the true way) to find a reciever you like is to bringing it home and throw it in you setup and playing around with it.

Ask about return polices with your dealer. So you can have a open door to bring it back or exchange it for another reciever.

This is just my opinion Brother, you can take it or leave it.I just wish you the best in finding one that suits you, my friend Good Luck

Thanks for the tips Ozzman, that makes sense. But the only problem i see with that is that i would most likely be ordering these products online, which would make it a real hassle to be returning them...I think i am gonna try to find them at my nearest retail stores such as: CC, BB, Frys and CostCo. Then I can just see they can demo certain stuff.

Marcos, in Southern California you should have quite a few specialty hi-fi shops to choose from. Check them out as well as the big box stores you mentioned.
