"Challengers of the Unknown"---interesting--- maybe they should have adapted that instead. Since that team didn't have any females. But for some reason they made a movie called Fantastic Four. Oh right, they just used that name to keep the rights from Marvel.
Except Chronicle was a quasi superhero movie.

Hmm, so they made a movie from Marvels first ground breaking silver age success and hired a director whose only movie was about super powers and it comes off closer to a comic about non powered adventurers?
Logical review.
And it has the virtue of anybody disagreeing with it a " misogynist fan-boy"
Add that to the list of slurs against folks who dont like this inept cinematic garbage.

So it looks like Fox tried to de-super hero comic -ify a super hero comic franchise, for ... What?

If you don't like the source material, then fine DON'T USE IT.

Love the Empire quote that says that "Fox had the admirable goal of Nolan-ising the FF".

No.

Just No.

The Fantastic Four were the Challengers of The Unknown with superpowers, and they had a female member if I recall correctly just not right from the start, Kirby drew them before starting to work at Marvel with Stan Lee and the idea was recicled adding superpowers.

I was going to give it a chance, but if this is confirmed, I won't even spend one ticket on this POS.

Devin Faraci sucks. The last time I described exactly how much he sucks, I was punished. Happy to see the decent folks on here have picked up the mantle.

Absolutely correct. But Kirby and Lee decided to add a female---that goes along on the mission and they decided to give them super powers.

Then a moron reviewer says---this is like Chalengers of the Unknown!

You make a decent looking Challengers movie and I might go see it, you make a faithful FF movie and I'll damn sure see it, but they make a crappy FF movie and a reveiwer tells me it's more like the other than the one it's named for...

That's the positive review?
Do I have to wait for a Challengers movie to see a good FF movie?

Oh yeah, 3 of 14 fresh at RT

I still don't understand why you dislike him so much. He's an *******, true. But he's pretty much only an ******* to people who richly deserve it.

It's a line. One character. Come on. Comic book adaptations have made worse changes in the past. Abusive brothers are a thing in real life.

Spice for you, not for most going by early reviews. However I do tend to find myself enjoying films most people hate so maybe I'll end up liking this one.

I'm as excited as ever to see this now, but for different reasons than before. Faraci is the only reviewer so far that I've read who talks about the movie outside the context of it being a "comic book movie," and what he says in that regard is indeed promising.

It's entirely possible, nay highly probable, that this fails completely as a "Fantastic Four movie," which is unfortunate in its own right. But I want to see for myself if it has other components that are interesting, even if the sum total is a let down.

"It's Clobbering Time!" happens to be a sacred piece of comics lore. Giving a twisted origin to it stemming from child abuse is such a controversial subject. In order for it to work, Josh has to believably convey why Thing would utter a line that gave him so much pain, for fans to swallow.
