The first one did, with the exception of Alba as Sue and Julian McMahon as Doom. The second was almost intolerable, though; I haven't seen it in several years. Doug Jones and Laurence Fishburne did great as the Surfer, plus Chris and Michael were in top form again...but everything else just sucked. I mean, Johnny taking everyone's powers at once, to fight Doom alone like a Looney Tunes short?! C'mon...even "Iron Man 3" and "Thor: The Dark World" avoided that level of camp.

Here's what I just posted to my Facebook page...

Reviews are coming in about the latest "Fantastic Four" movie, and the general consensus is this - it sucks worse than a possessed vacuum cleaner. My main response is simple: "I told you so." From the moment this was being developed, to the casting and story bits revealed online...I was 95% sure this had "epic fail" written all over it. The trailers didn't really inspire much confidence either, apart from Kate Mara resembling the Invisible Woman a lot more than Jessica Alba ever did.

Hopefully, the failure of this film will result in something truly awesome: all the film rights permanently returning to Marvel. I'd recommend waiting at least five years, until after the "Infinity War" films are done, then reintroducing the team one VERY small step at a time. We could get a true version of the comic medium's "first family", probably around the year 2020.

It's an option a lot of people who don't like something on tv or in the cinema often seem to forget... Instead they'd much prefer to watch something they don't like so they can rant about it online. Or they think the only things they like and enjoy should be allowed to exist and everything else, no matter how much others enjoy it, should be removed from existence!

I really don't like the look of the Suicide Squad movie, so I stopped posting in that thread and I won't be seeing it when it comes out. Problem solved.

On the contrary, I believe very much that Marvel could actually save this franchise. If it was in Marvel's hands, I wouldn't be surprised if we would see their Fantastic Four kick off phase four, and we could see Doctor Doom and eventually Galactus be the next big villain after Thanos.

Haven't seen the previous two films and neither have I read any of the comics. I am tempted to see this, though, just out of curiosity. I wanna know if it's misunderstood or whether it really is the mess the reviews claim it to be.

My main interest is out of morbid curiosity at this point. There's alot of pretty people in the cast, so at least there is that

This attitude toward superhero films (or any film really), perplexes me. Seriously, just don't watch them. I'm not the biggest fan of most movies based on YA novels; but someone is. I'm glad whomever is seeing these things, gets enjoyment out of them. With the exception of a few, I've throughly enjoyed most superhero movies that I've seen. I'm looking forward to more to come.

Fantastic Four going back to Marvel would pretty much guarantee I never see another Fantastic Four movie for the rest of my life.

But as for the others already planned for by studios.... I still expect them to happen, but maybe this Fantastic Four abomination will lead to less bad superhero films.

I don't think it does. One Reed is older not a kid. There are other things but needless to say that this does not stay true to the source material. I believe that is why so many fans of the comic were not impressed with it.
