** SHIPPED! **
Amazon has been trying some loop hole out on Prime members I've noticed. My last two orders with my Prime 2-day shipping were ordered well within the amount of time for them to ship that day, and they were available to ship, yet I would not receive them until 3 days later. The customer service person tried to give me the run-around, but I've dealt with them too much to fall for their crap. So, the first time they have me a $5 off my next order, then they tried the 3-day later shipping again when I clearly have 2-day and all the products qualify. This last time the guy just changed it to one day shipping,

Dumb decision, in my opinion. Did they say why they chose to do this? Guess I missed that announcement.

Gee, everybody's making exciting announcements all over the place. When is Shout going to join the party?

They used to have a banner?

Honestly, I never noticed.

I guess I'm just too focused on the movie to ever be aware of packaging. I make no distinction between so-called "Collector's Editions" or any other disc.

My sympathies to those of you who think that uniformity is a virtue.

Yeah, ever since the Comic Con announcements, this thread has slowed down considerably.

Wyrmwood also has a slip cover; it features the same art as the standard plastic case. I also assume IFC Midnight releases will standardly come with a slipcover.

If you're like me and don't use the slips the actual case artwork never had a banner, so there will be no change. Not that I think uniformity matters at all either way, since they don't sit next to each other on the shelf anyway. I wish Shout did more unique releases actually, like Arrow do.

I'm not saying uniformity makes or breaks me purchasing a release, just the way I have all my "Collector's Editions" lined-up, with the spines facing out, it just would have been nice if they kept the banner.

The disappointment with the Comic Con announcements seems to have taken the steam out of the thread somewhat lol.

I agree. It would be nice if SF kept it consistent.
I just think it's funny how it's always the same people that can't quite understand...wait for it...different people like different things.
Their broken record posts are always good for a chuckle.

Of course when I buy a car I usually think of the engine, but I don't dismiss things like: color, power windows, sunroof, nav system, sound system, bucket seats, etc etc etc....all things don't don't affect the main purpose of an automobile, but are....wait for it...nice to have.
Kind of like how I feel about: extras, packaging and artwork.

No one made fun of him or mocked him at all, from what I can see. We just explained why we don't care, just like he explained why he does care. It's simply a difference of opinion.

I guess if I kept the slips on AND sorted my Scream CEs together it would bug me, but I do neither of those things.

Don't worry... now that some titles are starting to ship again the Compression Nazi's will be back in full force before long. Based on how previous conversations have gone I fully expect The People Under the Stairs and every other future title to be described like this...

Hopefully we can discuss which People Under the Stars disc looks better, the Scream or the Arrow, without irrational babies on EITHER side turning it into internet drama. I really want to know which version to get.

Any reasonable comparison will also include the Bare bones Universal release as well. I picked it up for cheap a few months back after Scream Factory announced their edition. I'd like to hear how it stacks up audio/video wise as I have little interest in most of the special features developed for the other two editions.
