Sometimes I wonder if some of these companies are actually fronts for something, or some outfit that specializes in some totally unrelated product that also happens to license and distribute movies. Kind of like a check cashing outlet or supermarket that also stocks and sells DVDs. Maybe Hen's Tooth video is some dentist who has a cousin that used to work as a projectionist in the 70's and may still have connections

Well if it means anything, they also have COMPANY OF WOLVES, ESCAPE TO ATHENA, MARCH OR DIE, HAWK THE SLAYER, CROSS OF IRON, and HD masters exist for these titles, but they just sit on them, and continue to re-release old SD full frame to old widescreen masters.

However, I also know that disc media is going to be getting more and more niche, and people who won't pay $30 for a movie are going to have a rougher and rougher time of things as it goes on. The Twilight Time model is going to be more and more the norm in the future.
Yes it does seem that most studios have all but given up with catalogue movies and they are licencing them out to a variety of smaller companies but here in the UK Arrow, 88 films, Eureka and some others are still managing to bring out packages that surpass TT but retaining more standard prices although some of the more elaborate packages are now Limited Editions more often than not.

In the US the LE TT type model seems to be more prominent with companies like VCI and Vinegar Syndrome also doing LE site exclusives for some key titles.

Being able to recall how much we paid for some of those Laserdisc boxsets does put prices into perspective but there are still lots of movies I have on dvd that I wouldn't even consider paying $30 for on Bluray.

And triple that for an LD boxset at times.
I agree that $30 is ok for a rare title but many TT titles are not what you could call rare - 10 to Midnight is only currently "rare" because there's no other Bluray available. But it is the sort of mainstream title that is bound to be picked up by labels in other countries who licence MGM product.

Germany is my current favourite to see an alternate version - but who knows how long that may take.

Didn't realise Nothing but the Night was an ITV title. I still only have a German dvd of that. Any prospect of it coming on Bluray?

Quest for Love is a bit thin but its just the kind of thing it would be nice to have on Blu.

Is Revenge that Joan Collins cheapie?
If so - a Bluray next week if you please!!

I asked the label whether there ´re plans for the future as far as "The Evil that Men Do" is concerned.

Here´s their answer:
No plans at this time, but thanks for sharing your thoughts on the matter

Why isn´t their answer a surprise to me?

We would recommend canceling these unauthorized transactions as you may never receive the product.

I'll probably order it day one anyway, but I don't see a real rush on this one since The Mechanic is still not sold out.

Well I liked it a lot, but either way I bet they sell relatively similarly. Could be wrong though, who knows. It better not sell out in minutes though since I have a doctors appointment at 3pm tomorrow!
