I played Transformers on my 80GB PS3 and it only took 1 minute to load if that first time playing.

Oh and it sounds even better than it looks, its that good.

popped it in for the 2nd time. walked 30', grabbed a drink and the PS3 had already auto-run the disc and the DreamWorks intro was going before I closed the fridge door...

Actually, the loading time on the HD DVD wasn't dependent on the firmware (that was another issue) but the fact that if you are web enabled, it downloaded a chunk of data before doing anything else without asking you (but I believe you could cancel the download). Once this data is downloaded, it only took seconds for future plays, because the download was up to date. So it appears something similar is happening on the Blu-ray?

Although it only downloaded a few magabytes of data for the HD DVD version, it could be slow depending upon your connection, the servers used and hosting location (in my case living in the UK)

Gotcha. I knew it had to do with the web-enabled features and the "quick fix" was to disable the XBox 360's Ethernet connection. I always thought that a firmware update had fixed it since I moved my A2 into the bedroom when I bought my PS3 and replaced it with a 360 add-on in my living room - which loads my TF HD DVD just fast as the A2 did (even the first time I played it). Maybe I just have a decent broadband connection? Anyways - I'm still looking forward to checking out my Blu-ray copy for the TrueHD audio.

x2 on that. i see that more the with BDLive feature enable. on my 360 with HDDVD when i first loaded Transformers...i wanna say it took 5 minutes. most of the time i would bypass the bdlive feature....when i finally let it get its content it did take a while and on any other movies. and since my connections for wireless was from upstairs to downstairts...its a bit of a stretch....it did take a while to FIRST load any BDLive discs...once loaded it was quick.

i'll check my Blu copy of transformers tonight and see how long it takes. but thats been my past experience.

I have a 60 Gb PS3. Tuesday night it did not work. Wednesday night it worked flawlessly. I didn't make any changes. I just assume it was Paramount's BD-Live servers bogging down because everyone was checking it out on day one of the disk's release. If your copy still isn't working I would consider swapping put the disk, it may be flawed.

I first tried to play it didn't play and it displayed the status message STOP.I was using the firmware 1.6.Then I updated to 2.2 and loaded the disc and boom it got loaded in less than 30 secs.That was awesome.

Like Ruins, my BD30 wouldn't load Transformers at all, with 24p enabled anyway, running firmware 2.2. Fortunately, firmware 2.3 snuck out Tuesday fixing the 24p bug. Transformers loaded just as fast as any other BD after that.

I own a 40g PS3, and I can't get Transformers to work at all. Once I pop it in, the little loading circle on the top right of my screen appears for about a minute, and then dissapears and nothing else happens. Nothing loads at all. Disc 2 works fine though. I don't know what else to do. If this has anything to do with BD-Live, I will be cautious of purchasing discs that have BD-Live capability in the future.

I have a 60 gig PS3 and i had no problems, took maybe 30 seconds max...sorry to all having problems just figured id put in my 2 cents

I have the 40 gig and it only took 15-20 seconds to load...was able to get online and download stuff and then watched the movie right away. Hope you get it fixed

Same here. 40 gig took no more than 30 sec. to reach main menu.
Looks great on my 100" screen!
