Ok, this BETA is to test online only, they are not going to tweak the graphical performance... I'm very disappointed..

Graphics 6/10 easily... too much anti-aliasing, I'm going to play some more, and see how the gameplay is.

I don't want people to think that I am anti-ps3 or anything, I love my ps3 and love my x360 too- they are both fine systems.

But things like this "socom" are the reason the ps3 is not selling as well. This is... pretty bad...

I loved the first Socoms and enjoyed playing each of them for extended amount of time. But this beta is bad. it looks bad. it is clunky. it is laggy (i know its a beta on day 1, but come on) and having the "US EAST 1" lobbies and things seems out dated to me (i know why they do it and everything.. but... it's 2008.)

I appreciate the fact that the franchise seems to be staying true to what it was when it came out all those years ago- but the problem is is that online games have gotten a lot better since then.

I will keep trying it, maybe I just need more time. But the matches that I have played thus far have not been fun, at all.

I am sure I will get flamed for this. I hope my opinion changes, I really do.

dont worry i feel the same way, I'm just hoping it grows on me... I had very high hopes.

First of all the lag is obviously not an issue. Its day 1 with everyone under the sun trying to get in and play. US East needs to stay, why change it. Everyone on the Socom.com boards said leave things like this alone and just build on the gameplay. I think if you give it time it will be fine. What I am worried about is people bashing it then they delay the game another 6 months. My soul cant take any more PS3 delays!

I would rather them delay it so I would actually have a product to buy.

$59.99 that includes the PS3 official headset that costs $49.99 by itself. I think the game is worth $10

Look at Halo 3. People BASHED that game so bad and IMO it really does suck but that still came out and sold millions of copies

This does make me suspicious because the PS3 is selling better this year in every region. Why bring that up to begin with? Talk about the game. Or not if you're not interesting anymore.

Not selling well? who told you that?

the ps3 has been going great lately,even outselling the 360. so if its not selling well to you then that means the 360 is dead.

I have never played a SOCOM, but became interested in this since I really want the official headset.

The closest (and last) thing Ive ever played to a true tactical, team base shooter was Counterstrike (way back before they released the 1st retail package, like 2000 or something) I loved that game.

Im really hoping to play something where people cover each other, work together and communicate. Am I gonna be dissapointed?

It's not very attractive but it's exactly what I expect from SOCOM (strong team play, quick deaths) when the network pauses don't mess things up.

yeah this is Socom.. community is the focus and those game lobbies are what most socom gamers want.. most people prefer game lobbies over say COD4 where there are no lobbies or servers to select from.

In socom 1 and 2 I never left US West 1 unless it was for a clan battle. I liked being able to pick where I was going to play.

Really? US WEST 1 is where we hanged out so you must know @NUTZ@ clan, we always had rooms up in US WEST 1 throughout all socoms.

Damn... still downloading! its been about 90 minutes now!
cant wait to make my own mind up about this, im not to fussed about flawless graphics more gameplay and teamwork like GRAW2 still one of my favourite multiplayer games.
So how does SOCOM fair up against GRAW2...anyone?

Im just disappointed and kind of upset because I was really looking forward to this, like everyone else.

Overall though, in my defense, the 360 has more sold. (again, i love my ps3... so im not being a fanboi or whatever.)

Doing homework and laundry, really want to play the game some more, i want to get over the graphics and actually enjoy the game.. though I never played MGO cause I sucked...
