If you're mostly looking for extras I think the Halloween set is their best work, probably. If you mean movies in general, I highly recommend Escape From New York, They Live, The Howling and Day of the Dead. I'm more a sci-fi/fantasy guy than a horror guy though.

The Fog and Assault on Precinct 13 are worth getting as well.

Just bought all the movies I wanted this October from scream factory my wallet feeling it (The Howling,Dog Soldiers,Ginger Snaps,Army of Darkness, Demon Knight/Bordello of Blood,Halloween II&III,Day of the Dead,Lifeforce, ) Love these collectors editions that Scream Factory puts out, can't wait to see what else they announce for the future.

Would it too much to also hope for the 1st Fly? Id buy them both in an instant.

The mid-70's made for tv movie "Frankenstein, The True Story" is a perfect Universal subject for Shout/Scream. It's ripe for a major home video upgrade (if a good source is available) and it's a well regarded horror film with numerous major stars. There's the tv cut and the movie cut (released in the Uk and Europe) which would make for a great 2 disc release. And the Japanese Blu-ray release is absolutely abysmal.

We dont need the first Fly, it has a good blu ray release already. We need The Fly II - That being said I wouldnt be surprised if Shout would try to license the first one anyway

I know it does, id just like it to get the Collector's Edition treatment, along with The Fly II. Nice slip, reversible art & of course nice special features for them both.

Stop with wanting already great BDs to be reissued just so you can get a Scream logo on the box and a slipcover. It's so silly. The Fly could not be done any better by Scream.

I was hoping Fox might do a 30th Anniversary release of The Fly themselves, complete with a new restoration.

I certainly think Scream will put out The Fly II, though I'm not sure if it will be a CE.

It already has plenty of supplements. I dont want Scream to get into the habbit of releasing blurays that already have excellent editions for the sake of a slipcover -

I don't know how many people really want re-releases (unless they offer a new transfer), but they seem inevitable if Scream wish to persist with high-profile Collector's Editions.

Extras-wise, The Fly BD is fantastic, it's the transfer that's lacking. It's a DVD-era master and it shows its age. Since Fox is reissuing The Omen maybe they'll also revisit this. I wouldn't mind Criterion handling this, though. Maybe it's too mainstream for them?

Criterion released Benjamin Button? Ew.
Who authorized that?

I would love to see a remaster of the fly. But I'd prefer it if criterion or arrow released it since they've done practically all of his other movies from that time period. Maybe toss in a few new interviews for good measure and you'd have a nice reissue

Hi,

I received 5 brs today (all Scream Factory) but noticed only 1 came with a slip cover. It's not that big of a deal for me but am curious if the other films originally had them. Can anyone verify? Thanks.

The only one with slipcover -

No slipcovers:

I'm going to assume that they didn't come with slipcovers, and the only ones that do are special editions.

Your assumptions are correct. Those four never had slips

That was fast. THANKS sxerunner, much appreciated.

So next time if I order a special or collector's edition of a SF br, the probability would be high for slipcovers?

Again, I'm not one that gets all gooey over slipcovers but they are kinda cool nonetheless.

I think the only film that already has a Blu-ray release, that I would like SF to re-release as a Collector's Edition is "Firestarter". I would really love to hear Drew Barrymore discuss filming the movie. And maybe there are some deleted scenes out there somewhere?
