To the OP, I don't remember these scenes being particularly "grainy" in the theater, but hell who knows with theater calibration these days. Add to that we don't know much about the reviewer's setup, and I wouldn't be running to the "DNR!" bandwagon so fast. Oh, and Paramount's done nothing to deserve that kind of paranoia. |

Ugh, see this is the entire reason people at Warner or other studios apply DNR. Film is NOT HD video, and I personally never want it to be. I have movies that are shot on HD cameras that I love (Crank, Apocalypto) but I would hate to see some of my favorites ruined because studios wanted to clean them up for J6P.
It really makes me wonder why you have an HD setup and put money into this hobby in the first place. |

When I saw this in the theaters they were slight grain here and there thru out the first hour or so in the movie.I don't see why they would want to remove this from the print because it tell the story also from how Stark changed his ways...
Grain or no grain its a must buy in Blu. |

this is part of a review that ign did on Iron Man Blu Ray...for the full review click the link:
Video and Presentation The 2.35:1 widescreen format serves this film well. In keeping with the recent trend moving away from vivid, stylized images of comic-book superheroes, Iron Man offers a more natural world backgrounded by sandy browns, cool blues and neutral grays. It makes for a nice contrast against the brilliant red and gold of the Iron Man suit, once he appears in his familiar incarnation. The good news is that the colors and textures really pop on this disc. The problem with the picture, and it's not a small one, is the consistently high level of noise. While some noise is expected on a 35mm transfer like this, the level here is excessive (and evident when viewed in both DLP and LCD). When compared with recent reference quality discs such as Transformers, the difference in clarity is palpable. At least the digitally created CGI action sequences are free of the fuzz, for the most part. Still, it's a bit of a disappointment for such a highly anticipated release. Score: 7 out of 10 http://dvd.ign.com/articles/909/909242p1.html |

I rarely look at the extras. Maybe once in a while, when I'm bored, I'll pop a disc in and see what's there. But in no way do extras ever come into the decision about buying a BD. It boils down to PQ, AQ, and is it a movie that I liked/would like to watch.
Extras just don't matter that much to me. |
