I think most adults, parents or not, are able to separate fictional onscreen happenings from real life. Unless it's especially gratuitous I think most people are indifferent.

Liked Jurassic World. A bit long on plot development and some contrived moments at times but it was good. Good vs evil. Man vs man. Dinosaur vs man. Dinosaur vs dinosaur. Boy meets girl. Boy gets girl. You know the formula
[Show spoiler]Raptors being fond of humans (they trusted ) was an interesting touch.
Get the fans rooting for the dinosaurs for a change. I liked it enough to spin up Jurassic Park right after. HUGE difference immediately, however. But you can never duplicate an original and Spielberg was a literally a god back then.

I'm not a parent and am an immature adult.

Yikes, sorry man, I didn't even realize that. I'm usually so good about that, too. Thing is, I used spoiler tags in the GoT thread mentioning

I hate seeing animals killed in movies, but you don't see movie studios accommodating me. Heh

I guess killing kids would make a movie like this less fun.

I don't like to see animals killed either. I also don't like to see innocent people who can't defend themselves like the mentally challenged or pacifist types killed or humiliated.

Anybody looking for the Wal-Mart lunchbox? Let me know maybe we can trade or something. I don't want it.

Obviously not all parts are meant to be fun. I seriously doubt you where meant to enjoy watching several of the characters die. Hence why the try and dilute the first death by having the person by a fat, dumb, aging male. Which forever reason causes people to care less.

Some dramatic weight is something this film desperately needed with it being ever so easy to tell who was safe and who would die.

Yeah, I just went to go see "Bridge of Spies" with my Dad yesterday. I was blown away. He is the master of crafting such a great cinematic adventure. God Bless Steven Spielberg.

Finally got to see this.

I really enjoyed it, and the BD is stellar:

5/5 for PQ (absolute perfection)
5/5 for Sound. This has got to be the most seamless surround track of all times.
Movie: 4/5

The bird at the beginning was funny, but really fake-looking IMO.
Overall, the VFX were very good, but there were some not so stellar ones as well.
It was great/sad to see the park opened.

I think this aspect ration is my new favourite, as it's somewhat of a hybrid between 1.78 and 2.35. Pefect.

Great fun.

Me too. I love all animals. And I still cannot get myself to see either the Gallimimus being killed in JP or the Ankylosaurus in JW. However, these are still CGI animals.
But the sole reason I have never re-watched Apocalypse Now is because they shot a real animal being killed. I also learned that John Wayne got a lot of horses and other wild animals like elephants, rhinos killed just to create those shots for his movies.

I picked up the UK 3D Amaray with Lenti with a heavy heart, resigned to finally seeing this film that everybody hates.

Well I enjoyed the film, 7.5/10 from me. I look forward to the sequel.

Anyway, the 3D copy has no 2D disc! Where's my deleted scenes? I'm expected to double dip?!

Bought mine (2D version) yesterday in a online promotion (a lot of Universal titles were for the same cheap price, including Boyhood, Scarface, Apocalypse Now, Theory of Everything and others) for 19,90 (the original price was 79,90) and received an e-mail today morning saying it was delivered. I'm just waiting my dad to come home, so I will unbox this bad boy.
I just didn't bought the other titles because I've bought a lot of films last week in a store, each of them for 2,99 ONLY.
I bought this ones:
TITANIC
ROSEMARY'S BABY
SEX AND THE CITY 2
INSIDIOUS
SKYFALL
THE MUMMY
THE MUMMY RETURNS
FOOTLOOSE
THE PURGE
THE THREE MUSKETERS 3D
THE BLING RING
MAN OF STEEL 3D
GLADIATOR
THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO
A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (2010)
RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE
EASY A
THE UGLY TRUTH
ONE DAY
SOMETHING BORROWED

So, since I blind-bought it on Blu-ray I have seen it 3 times now:

1.JW

2. JP-JW

3. TLW-JPIII-JW

The VFX are fantastic. Only the bird at the beginning could have used some more work, as it looks terribly digital and smooth.

Definitely as good as the others though.

All the VFX are great in these movies.

The puppets look the most fake.

The Brachiosaurus (Brontosaurus?) puppet in JP, when they are sitting in the tree looks hokey like hell.

The worst is the little stegosaurus puppet in TLW though. It doesn't get any stiffer than that. Completely unvoncvincing.

JPIII fares much better.

JW has that dying herbivore again, which looks like an old lady.

Some people may call it more real. To me it looks like it's made of plaster/silicon, etc. and therefore totally fake.

The Pteranodons in JPIII are some of the absolute highlights. They look perfect.

TLW is my least favourite in terms of story.

Hammond says that they only brought the dinos over to JP from site B, yet in JP are new raptor is born right there, and he mentions that he is there when every single one of them is born. Also, they are all born in captivity, so TLW is built on a complete fabrication to justify a sequel, or did I get something wrong here?

JP is a classic.
JPIII is a fun adventure
JW is epic
