I think they should go back to the normal implementation of the web browser, not limiting it to a smaller window.

I'm actually loving this feature! Thanks sony. once home drops the ps3 will be an unbeatable beast (like it's not already).

i do wish they had more cities but i'm not complaining as i know it's still early. hopefully they update it with pretty much every major city. this feature is awesome!!

thanks Shin-ra for the heads up, had i not read this this morning, i would have never known that it was updated.

That's the first thing I noticed. I tried to zoom in by clicking the right stick but it doesn't work. That's not good.

If they are going to give us weather then we should be able to get a current temp and forecast for the city we are in. Even the weather channel on my Wii does that.

i like the improvememnt over the old folding at home, but overall it's really not that impressive. i really like the way you can pick the song you want to listen to now. other than that, there's room for improvement.

I agree - I'm not impressed. But I'm sure it will get fine tuned. Seeing the weather for a City 2 states away isn't very helpful. (Unless I'm missing something that will display a major city close to me.)

I was glad to hear about being able to play music in the last update, however, that feature worked very poorly. Seems they've got it working pretty good.

I'll often play music while doing things around the house, so I am glad I can use the folding program while listening to music now. I'm definitely more like to be folding now.

The update isn't what I hoped - but it's a start. It's really great to see Sony working so closely with the Folding project.

Btw, once I click on my Folding Icon and LWP starts, I'm folding right? I don't need to manually start anything? Just checking. I'd hate to be using LWP the whole time thinking I'm folding, only to find out I had to select something specific.

Even if a person plays video games 4 hours per day, the other 20 that would be spent with F@H running accounts for $208 of that bill.

If you have parents paying your bills for you, or if you are a student living in a dorm, or if electric is included as part of your monthly rent, then I can imagine not caring about this. But if you pay your own electric bills, $200 is certainly something to consider. Unless you REALLY feel like you're helping find a cure for cancer, you're just throwing money away.
Eh, I just hang my clothes out on a line outside to dry instead of running my dryer in the laundry room so it all evens out on the electric bill in our household. My electric bill has certainly not increased since I've started F@H, in fact, it has dropped considerably due to some minor changes elsewhere in the household (using lower power consuming lightbulbs for one thing).

Basically, if I can help some person in the future to be cured of Alzheimer's or cancer because of my contribution, then that's all I need. Having diabetes myself, I strongly support the motives behind the F@H project and what it may do for future generations. Some people may not wish to contribute, but at least with LWP, Sony is giving users the option to do something with the time that would normally be utilized by F@H only with the news and weather options, so its a smart merge IMHO.

it's a pretty cool feature, shame that they do not have your local areas news available. In the wii version they had OKC listed for the weather at least...oh well it is a great start Will be awesome to see where they can take this thing! Should be a very interesting app!

Its not a hassle, you just want to see if you are listed to see if it is something that would be wourth your while. Correct?

I use FAH anyways sometimes, so this is no big deal for me to care if my hillbilly town is listed.(It wont be) But other nearby major cities will be I am sure.

What city are you from rather than typing 200 cities potentially?

Wow, this really seems like the most useless thing that Sony has done for the PS3.

Just my 2 cents.

Well, I, for one, would have to assume (we know what that does), that as it is obviously brand spanking new, and they will probably expand with more cities and even content as time goes on. They would not (if they even have the intention to) go balls out and do full features and all cities around the world in the very beginning. They would do it exactly like it is to tread the waters and see how it goes with the masses taking it on and what bugs and whatnot show up in the first few months. There is probably some base subscriber # they are looking for to ensure things run smooth before getting more content out there.
I for one would think that more cities and the option for a favorites’ list (list the ones you have tagged as a FAV, and ignore the rest) and a clock on screen would be a good addition. I would only want to see a half a dozen cities at most (major stock market cities around the world for that news).

I am sure there are going to be many potential add-ons (can't suck too much power from FAH though), and Sony will be trolling through the emails and forums to see what they see as most wanted to deliver the content that others want.

This system has proven time and time again, that it delivers what the users want, slowly but surely. Firmware updates, cumbersome as they might be, are one of the best things to come out of the electronics industry EVER. For product fixes and improvements. The sky’s the limit if they have enough memory to implement the changes.

I hope they bring out the next gen PS3 with more and faster memory for future improvements (as well as a few hardware improvements like HDMI bit streaming ) (memory not affecting future gaming releases but for content add-ons, as they would not want to affect the potential for old console owners not to be able to buy future games). It would make me put this one in the kids room and pick up the new one for the main living room entertainment centre, with no complaints that the kids can't get some of the future upgrades. They could probably (and probably already do) just use the hard drives for that content update, if that is the case then the sky is the limit other than running too many apps at once (do i hear a ram module add-on option )

WoW that turned out to be a windbag post

P.S. As time has gone on, the LWP screen has added stuff, like Kuwait shows the moon (i assume that is where the moon is now (*Edit...DUH, it is to signify night time and cloudy, like Sun and cloudy here during the day), there are city lights like FAH shows in the dark time zones ,clouds and suns for weather conditions, it is coming alive a little more, it was fairly dull initially (Initial download was 150MB or so, now the size as listed in information is 223MB, so it has been downloading content as time went by)
