I have to disagree, in cinemas it was NOT intended with black bars up and down. The issue is simply that wide screen TV's are not wide enough, thus the black bars. And yes this has been discussed many times but I just wanted to specify that just cause one does not like black bars does not mean one does not want to watch it the way it was intended.

PS: Even when watching with my PS3 is still have the option in my TV between "Widescreen" and "Unscaled". There is not much difference between the two, but widescreen makes me lose a little bit of image left and right, while unscaled lets me see it all (but with bigger black bars).
