Yes, but even better, one of them was the Deadpool red band trailer. Here's my post from the Deadpool thread:

After around the 1:35 mark when the trailer gets GOOD you could hear some parents start to gasp, especially at the head-shots around 2:16...

maybe I'll change my mind after seeing it a second time. it just felt "off", too rushed in the second half and I'm just tired of seeing emo whiny kids as a villain

There was..

No plot?

Very disappointed with the lack of any story or character development. There was literally about nothing.

DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANY OPPOSING POINTS TO TFA.

- Rey scavenging.
When they dismiss a ship as garbage and when the camera pans and you see it's the Falcon. That whole scene was awesome.
Simply a reference to Luke's first reaction to it in ANH.
- "I can do this" "I can do this"
- BB-8 nodding to the tool Finn can't find
- Kylo doing a tantrum and destroying the console
Yeah, that was totally bad ass,....if you are some pathetic kid who doesn't get the toy he wants.
- Chewie's bowcaster. 'Nuff said!
- Solo blindly shooting stormtroopers on his side
I hated that. Typical Marvel type way these days. Completely unrealistic.
- Poe destroying 5 Tie Fighters in one camera pan
- Rey mind controlling the stormtrooper.
- I love Luke look at the end. And am glad he didn't say anything. I felt everything was explained in his expression.
-
A great moment, only nearly ruined by the helicopter shot.

After seeing this, Lucas deserves a lot of apologies from A LOT of people. There is no way people can shred the prequels to pieces and not do the same to this movie because it is a colossal mess.
Right on.

Exactly. I love the entire Saga, and really wanted to love this one too.

I definitely need to see it again, but my first reaction was less than stellar.

It could really have been due to his health problems, but the score was totally empty indeed.

Yes, by far the worst opening of any SW film thus far. It wasn't even worthy of a SW opening, as they have all been awesome until now.

The most ironic thing to me is that George Lucas released statements saying "This is the movie that the fans wanted" and "To me, Star Wars was always about family", when the truth is, TFA is a better movie about family than George Lucas could ever write or understand. I don't like to come across as a Lucas hater, because he has given us so much, but I've had 30+ years to realize that the guy is a great story pitch writer and producer, and a terrible script writer and director of actors. The films speak for themselves.
If it only were true. I honestly wanted to love this, but it has no legs on its own at all. None of the new characters make any sense, except for the
[Show spoiler]pilot
, who seems terribly out of place in a SW film IMO.
[Show spoiler]If Snoke really is Darth Plagueis, it's the worst possible depiction of this legendary character, and he is supposed to be dead, or is the LOTR now? Also, that CGI character would have been shredded to bits if it had appeared in the prequels, but here hardly anyone seems to have a problem with him. How convenient.

Oh, and I presume there's no Disney logo whatsoever at the start?
It was a little odd, but compared to all the other issues I had with the film, this one wasn't even worth a mention.

I pretty much stayed out of this thread (Much to some people's relief, I guess. ) until I saw it yesterday.

Bluyoda is going to be that guy and just continue posting about a film he doesn't like. Ironically he's behaving exactly like those that he didn't get on with prior that didn't like the Prequels.

Just as usual, Dreamworks movies always have awful trailers that make even the good ones look stupid like Minions, Madagascar or Cars, the KFP and KFP 2 trailers made an awesome job in convincing me not to watch them, it took the Nostalgia Critic to convince me to watch them and I'm glad I did, it helps that Dragon Trainer and Megamind already opened my mind a bit as I really didn't enjoy any Dreamworks movie that came after Shrek 2 before.

As Ernest Rinster kept saying, it'll be mighty interesting to see if those chaps can heed their own advice when it comes to continually gabbling on about Star Wars movies they don't like.

I don't mean now so much, as Bluyoda's only just seen the movie (like the rest of y'all) and he's got a right to express what he thinks is wrong with it (especially when they've seen it another half dozen times, just to make sure). It's when we're months, years, decades down the line: if the same complaints about Ep VII are being repeated ad nauseum by The Flannel-Shirted Worshippers in spite of being told to let it go by everyone else then the circle will be complete.

I doubt he'll be going on about it 16 years from and certainly not with the same level of ignorance and vitriol that the other side feels comfortable with.

I haven't seen him insult anyone or speak about this film as hatefully as many did about Episodes 1-3. The trouble with those people is that they are completely unwillingly to entertain the notion that some people have a difference of opinion and enjoy the films. They're very childish. They sound like children tattling on a student.

"But they like something I don't like and they're talking about it! Make them stop!"

Absurd. Whether you like what he has to say or not, he has a right to say it as long as it's not insulting and considering the way many of the Episode 1-3 bashers talk about Episode 1-3 and the people who like and defend them, they have no room to act holier than thou one bit.

Which is why I suggested, years ago, that this site try experimenting with mirror threads. Have a positive and negative SW thread. You like the films, discuss in the positive thread. If you don't like them, post in the negative thread. Never shall the two meet up.
Obviously we've seen what happens going to normal route.
(Let the usual suspects object... )

Thank you, Geoff D. I respect you and your opinions, because you do the same.

I can assure you that I won't waste my energy on things I dislike.

I am definitely giving it another shot. Hopefully, my opinion of it will (greatly) improve.

Normally, I stay out of geekfights, because they're always a waste of time, but what the hell, it's Christmas, and I've got some time to kill.

This is why you're having so many problems in this thread: You're not explaining any of your opinions, you're just spewing out negatives.

Why does it not stand on its own? Even people who have never seen a Star Wars movie have no problems following The Force Awakens. That's the definition of standing on its own.

If the new characters make no sense, how could they make sense, in your opinion?

Why are you insisting that this character is the same as the one mentioned in Revenge of the Sith, when no one knows yet? How is it the 'worst possible'? Have you seen all other possibilities? Worse than if it was JarJar? Can you see how that's a ridiculous statement?

"My family all thinks so too!" is not an argument. I'd like to hear more about your viewpoint, but you're coming across like a crazy person on a rant, instead of someone who is following any kind of logic.
