that's odd, sense these were just available on amazon through a 3rd party broker just a couple weeks ago, and all the stores i've talked to said they have no idea when they are getting them in. I think you might of seen the 850, which isn't led backlight.

I just went to BB and they said in certain markets they have test models out. I did like the 850, looked real sharp but then I looked at the 50' Pioneer KURO and nice very nice.

2,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio is just ridiculous; like people are really going to see the difference. Most HDTVs do look nice but they differ in many ways. I was at BB the other day talking to an associate and I noticed that the Panasonic Vierra stood out a lot more than the others from a far distance.

I saw the LCD 9 series in the store playing Pirates on Blu, and it looked pretty phenomenal. I own the LCD a750 series, and it's a beautiful television. I initially purchased the SONY KDL46W4100 but after suffering from the sparkle problem and bad clouding, I decided to go with Samsung 7 series, and I'm glad I did. PQ is amazing--the halo issue on the set is a non-issue for me. In Sony's defense though, they released firmware for the sparkle problem so that's an issue that appears to be fixed currently.

Dynamic contrast ratios are just bs, all that matters is native contrast.

There have been a number of Samsung LED backlit LCD models on the market for months and months now.

just checked out one of these at BB and it looked amazing. the tag stated 1,000,000 to 1 contrast wow. it was up there in price though, like $4g's and up.

I have not seen it yet. I believe magnolia home theaters have some to show and sell. Other than that, Cnet rates the 950 as the #1 LCD available and number 3 on the overall list with the Pioneer PDP-5020FD at #2 and the Panasonic TH-50PZ800U at #1. They have videos too on the tv's to explain stuff they like/dislike or else you can read about it. http://reviews.cnet.com/best-hdtvs/
