Like I said, it's unfortunate the parents will have to monitor LBP for adult content at all.

Unfortunately, it's the world we live in. Not much we can do with it. Trust me, if you're a parent, this isn't surprising, it just gets old that family entertainment becomes tainted.

Like sneaking in sexual references in Disney films etc.

There are so many avenues for adult entertainment, not sure why people love to introduce it into kids media so much.

Whoa, calm down. I didn't say it's offensive to me. Plus your argument of the internet is not a great one, because, like I mentioned before, the internet can easily be filtered (ask China!).

I'm not even a parent, so I don't really have a personal interest in this.

I think Cymbol's post above mine is great, and that comes from an actual parent.

In other news, I'll be bringing back the Queue later tonight, to throw it on a fresh page, in anticipation of all the beta codes will be getting tomorrow. If anyone's name is not on the queue, just shout that you want to be added, and it will be taken care of.

i'm not upset at all, sorry if it seems i'm jumping down people's throats. but i'm not a parent either, but i can't stand when people complain about stuff like this like its the game companies fault their children are seeing inappropriate stuff. there are ways to avoid it, and up bringing to deal with it.

heck..that video wasn't even graphic in the least, and there's multiple people here acting like their children's heads will explode (i realize i'm probably exaggerating a bit, but you get the point)

Yeah, I can't wait either.

Also, I didn't think the video was that bad, it's more of the idea of how bad it can get.

Luckily this is a PS3 exclusive, because the people on XBL are far worse than anything I've encountered on PSN.

No it doesn't. The penis outline got inserted with a condom outline. That's it. It's not obscene; naughty but not obscene. The drawings featured in Superbad was obscene and funny and is cause of monitoring.

Stamping obscene photos can be more easily done in LBP than to create a realistically looking body part.

As far as measures to control what children should or shouldn't see on this game, I think parents should create a master account for their PS3s (with keyboard attached so that they can't see what your password is) so that only the parent can download updates, demos or anything. Then the child can use his/her account to play only.

Seriously though, I would love to give this game a shot. I'm hoping the controls are easy enough to use for the create mode, that my wife will get into it.

go to gamestop, ask for a kratos code for the LBP pre-orders, and they will probably just hand it over. i actually pre-ordered mine through GS but when i did they didn't have any codes. i went back last week and just asked for one, expecting to have to show my receipt, but the guy just handed me it.

You're missing the point.

Unlike something that could occur in the classroom or out at a mall, any parent with LBP has complete control over what their child sees and does.

First, you have the decision whether or not to buy the game, then you have the choice of allowing them to play it, then you have the choice of allowing them to access the playstation network.

I'm not saying levels shouldn't be removed - I'm saying that what is absurd is expecting a game company to do something the no person in the history of the world has ever been able to do "perfectly" censor inapropriate content from the masses.

It sounds like Sony is doing a lot of good things to help control inappropriate levels - if after all that a parent is still concerned about the possibility that one of their children could be exposed to objectionable materials they probably should - oh, I don't know.... maybe parent?

If you are afraid of what they will download when you aren't around, then they don't play it when you're not around - it's as simple as that.

I'm sorry, but I'm the parent of a 2 year old. I have no sympathy for people saying that they can't control what their 10 year old does or does not see in this game. Personally I'd probably let my daughter download her own LBP stuff when she is old enough, but I'm also comfortable that I can know what she's downloaded and that if something slips through it's a learning opportunity for her, just like the first time she comes home and asks what "F--- you" means after hearing it from someone on the playground.

If there are parents out there who are thinking that they can give this game to their kids so that they can have it occupy them while they take a break from parenting, they really aren't great parents and they deserve what they get. Rare are the times that you get to be "off" from being a parent - it's pretty much a 24/7 job.
