This comment isn't directed at you as someone at your level is fully aware of stuff like this, but the above comment reminded me of one of Kevin Miller's responses to an off camera question during a break from the presentations about projectors at the 2014 HDTV shootout. He was mentioning how the biggest factor people don't consider when they transition to a projector is you now have your entire room's environment to consider. With a flat panel you are removing the vast majority of how the room plays with the signal as the panel is the source of the signal, but with projectors you've now got 10+' usually where the light is affected between the source and the screen.

Perhaps that isn't a light bulb moment for many people here, but I hadn't considered it up to that point and it was enlightening.
