It still blows my mind that you have the collection you do but don't have even a simple surround sound set up. My goal is to one day have a room/collection similar to yours so I always love seeing your photos/videos... but seriously... you really need to get a surround sound setup.

I have a 2 year old. When I watch movies is when he's sleeping. It wouldn't get used... But one day...

As PowerfulMJC pointed out it helps even at lower volumes. I have a 2 year old as well and watch all my films after 9pm when the wife and daughter go to sleep. I don't even have my basement finished at the moment so all my movie watching is done on the main floor in the living room. It's incredibly rare for me to ever get the chance to turn my surround sound loose, but even at low volumes the sound is so much better than tv speakers and so much more immersive. I understand the reluctance, but it truly is night and day the same way that going from VHS to DVD was.

Or you could just get a really nice set of headphones with some good isolation! Either way, that room is incredible.

Ok, I have way too many of those (probably in the 4 digits too) I'm trying to slim down my collection I've sold over a 100 blus this year, I hope to go under the 1000 mark very soon. If I could go back in time I wouldn't spend a quarter of what I've spent on movies...

I know so many people who have a ton of blu-rays but the worst audio and video systems. What's the point of having an awesome collection if you're not presenting them in the best way possible?

I go through my home stereo. 150 watts. So that makes it 2.0 for me. Works just fine and I'm happy with it. THAT's the point. If someone is happy with T.V. speakers, so be it. Some people can't exist without 5.1 or 7.1 or whatever is the newest thing. I'm happy with my 2.0 stereo speakers.

Here is my collection so far.

I separated the Horror titles in order to make more room.

Very nice collections guys. I used to have over 2k Blu-rays and I made the very difficult choice to get my collection below 300 and try and get as much digital as possible, just to make it easier for my travels, ability to watch on any tv with ease, and to save space.

I do miss it a bit, but I kept the best in my collection at least.

Wow, you most have lost over 50k in money, I sell blu-rays when I buy a better version or buy a collection and end up with a double and I almost have to give them away. Selling blu-rays is like changing $1 for $0.10.

I have bought most of my titles used, actually. Many were also received as gifts. Very rarely did I buy anything new. For example, I picked up the complete series of Lost (individual 6 seasons) for $5 each at my record shop. $30 <<<< new release/ recent release prices.

Anyways, it is what it is. I did a good job of selling online, everything was in good shape. Made back what I paid on many titles.

Good for you, I bought most of my blu-rays new and I'm lucky when I can get get $4-5 back, I have around 10 on eBay right now on their second trip and I just sold a couple so far. There's not a big market for those.
