As we all know, the PS3 is not a cheap machine. There are only two real options for an immature boy to get his hands on a PS3, the first would be to purchase one for himself. That immediately rules out anyone up to around age 17, because if they're so immature, they're never going to save up $400 or $500 from chores or mowing neighbors yards. As for those older immature boys who may have a "steady" job (flipping burgers or some other crap ass retail job in the local mall for minimum wage most likely), something tells me they wouldn't know the value of a dollar. Although the PS3 is well worth the heavy price tag because of everything Sony packed into it, an immature person wouldn't have done their homework - they would simply choose the cheaper console not knowing what they could have had. The other option for an immature boy to get a hold of a PS3 is for their parents to buy one for them, but just as in the previous scenario, when parents go console shopping for their kids all they will see is the price tag - never fully understanding what each system offers, only concerned with which costs the least. All this being said, it's pretty easy to see why the Wii has come as far as it has even though it's a last gen system - but more to my point, I see it as very unlikely for an immature boy to end up with a PS3. There will be some exceptions to this theory of course, but I would argue that more often than not, your typical PS3 owner bought his machine for himself and therefore 1)Has a job 2)The job pays well or he knows how to save his money well and not piss it away, and 3)Looked up what each console had to offer, and chose the PS3 as it holds the most value for the monies spent. In other words your typical PS3 owner is far from immature, and I can only assume that as such, a mature and dare I say intelligent individual, he would be more interested in creating and building things (LBP) than in violence and destruction (R2) |
